Reasons to be Cheerful

Recommended Posts

Sitting in the pub on your own is one of simplest pleasures a man can have.

Went for lunch with the Mrs and now I'm away back to the pub for a few hours.

What you say is true, a few pints, a paper and perhaps a few quid on the horses is a fine way to spend a day.

"fell down the stairs, officer" type post.

Worked out swimmingly, operation went well and a month or so's recovery in a hospital department just round the corner, meaning I can bugger off to Havana for a week without having to pay for 24 hour care.  :)

The 500 is definitely a hairdresser's car, but the 500x isn't. A completely different car just marketed to piggy back on the success of the 500.

Saw one yesterday, looks a lot bigger.

My Dad has broken his hip. Hopefully a straightforward operation tomorrow morning but he'll be in hospital for at least a week, maybe longer. He's pretty comfortable zonked out on morphine. The RTBC is I'll be able to watch the EUROs in my local beer garden while other people look after him.  :thumsup2

My mother's just had a hip replacement. Amazed at how straightforward these surgeries are now. It's been less than two weeks and she's taking a trip on the bus today. Your dad's situation is probably more complicated, but you might need to do some nagging about physiotherapy, as my mum's heard hee-haw from them, despite plenty of promises

Anyway, enjoy your temporary freedom   :P

Hope she doesn't take a trip on the bus otherwise it might be more than a hip replacement.

It's the only way she'll get the other one done without going back on the waiting list   :P

My granny had her hip replaced. When at rehab hospital decided she wanted a cigarette. Couldn't be arsed waiting for nurse so went to go herself.

Fell

Broke other hip!
