Even if a planet responded somehow it would take years or decades to have a conversation. Apparently there's an 85% chance of finding an Earth like planet around Alpha Centauri. We need to get a lot faster, or build generational space ships. He basically started the area 51 thing but it does seem weird he's stuck to his story even in court and been hassled by the FBI.
