st jude
Correct, a good season for us based on our achievements in recent seasons. Ayr fans on the other hand still seem to judge their seasons achievements on the Bill Barr funded years at the turn of the century. Brian Reid was slaughtered towards the end of his tenure at Somerset, yet he quite clearly achieved as good as could be expected for Ayr under current circumstances. Expectation levels are ridiculously sky high. As for being the biggest part time club in the country, depends what you're building your argument with. Finances? Perhaps. Attendances? Probably. League? Then no. Unlucky 2 out of 3, massive imo Edited to add unlucky.

Gall09
Longworth is a fantastic replacement though if he can get his form back. Longworth is a confidence player. By his own admission he was poor last season, but i think if he hits the ground running at Stranraer he'll go goal daft. He was incredible in the 11/12 season. Hope he gets back to that level. EdinburghBlue
FC Twente back at Stair Park this weekend - coaching for 400 local youngsters. Why didn't they go to a massive club like Ayr? :-)
Guest honestrae95
Because Ayr have a partnership with Feyenoord- a bigger, better Dutch team who will be playing in the Champions League next season. Unlucky.

Phil1870
Hadn't thought of that ;-) Come on EdinburghBlue, you must be aware that it was 'Super' Ayr United that invented total football? Its every young Dutchmans dream to play for Ayr;) Of course we can now await the usual 'no concept of irony or taking the piss' nonsense being spouted. Le shocolate moose
Aye they reckon that pele used to go on holiday to butlins in Ayr as a kid and that's where he learned the art of football ... Still think Stranraer will finish higher in the league than Ayr next season though . Would of liked to see grant Gallagher back at right back but by re-signing kinnaird it looks like he will be getting played out of position in midfield again next season

Yeah because we definitely have a tie up with Feynoord! For what it's worth I think it's really cool Stranraer have links with a club such as Twente. Blue-Orchid
Is there an official link with FC Twente or do some of their fans just have a bond with a couple of guys from Stranraer who just use Stair Park as a platform? You get to know most people if bit them, their faces when our crowds are so low. I don't recall ever seeing these people behind it watching Stranraer. Hopefully I'm way off the mark here.
