Liam Craig - St Johnstone Legend

Recommended Posts

One of the most passionate players we have ever had. Always gave his all regardless, gutted he won't be Hal next season. I'm hoping his fling with hibs is a season long before returning

I am happy that Liam is leaving as he has been dreadful this season. He cannot cross a ball, his passing is poor, and has corners are shite. If we had competition for his place he surely would have been dropped by now.

He has become stale at saints and should have been dropped , that is the truth and this is why most saints fans aren't too bothered by him going . Just take him now because it will turn nasty for liam if he continues to feck up every set piece and plays like he has for the first part of this season .

Legend is banded around far to often nowadays.

Average SPL player.

Apart from we are calling him a St. Johnstone legend, not an SPL legend.

He is indeed nothing more than a box-standard SPL player, but at St, Johnstone he has worked his socks off for us for years, and deserves to always be remember very fondly.

For me perhaps slightly short of 'legend' status, but some of the people I would nominate for that I'm probably just biased because I was a kid at the time, George O'boyle etc

This all sounds very promising. Should be a good player to have and could chip in with a few goals, unlike any of our current midfielders.

To be honest, as the cynical and interfering Falkirk fan said above, he isn't a stand-out player really. The reason we rate him so highly is because he has been here for ages and always given it his all, even when forced to be an out of position LB for ages.

There have been times where his performances have been a bit poor, but his legend status comes more from being a clubman than from being good, though no doubt he has been excellent for most of this season.

The aforementioned goal at 1:50 sent us top. I don't think we lost top spot all season after that (probably wrong?) and the atmosphere at the game was unbelievable. I get chills watching it again.

Liam was pish this season until he signed the pca , then it just clicked for him . He's not a legend , henry hall , john brogan the're legends . Liam connects with the fans in his celebrations , always puts in effort and thats why fans love him . He will give 100% and WILL wind up the Jambos when he scores against them and that'll make up for any deficiencies the hibees notice in his play.

I know people are saying he lacks pace but he didn't ever seem slow when I've seen him at Easter Road. Hopefully he is a good player for us.

You'll find out for yourself, but he certainly isn't nippy.

The thing that I liked about Liam Craig was that he always worked hard. Even if we were getting pumped 4-0, he never gave up. Even if it was a game against a third division team, he still gave it his all. Not the best player in the world, but always worked hard. I wish all of our players had the same drive.

no just no.

I really don't get this type of attitude. How can you have an opinion on how he ranks in St. Johnstone fans' eyes? It is sweet FA to do with you. Not only is no-one claiming he is an SPL great, but also club-legend status goes beyond playing ability. I think your username hints towards your misunderstanding of your place.

Personally I think he falls short of legend status, and it is only the fact players move about so much these days that makes him seem so. Still someone for St. J fans to appreciate greatly though.

Sounds like Sam Parkin.

No, Liam Craig works hard in a generally successful and fruitful manner.

Parkin won more trophies last season than Craig has in his St Johnstone career.

In fact, Sam Parkin has won more major domestic trophies in the last two months than St Johnstone have in their history.
