smuggfifer
Also at a quick glance Partick seem to have two “Home” ties out of three games against us, Falkirk, Montrose and Airdrieonians!!! Surely just luck of the draw!!! [emoji848]It's the same every season KK, 2 years ago we have Stranraer away last game of season ,then first game of next season . Last year we get Peterhead and Stranraer back to back in December, and our last 3 away games would have been treks. Guess where we are heading in December again!!

Surely just luck of the draw!!! Doing a quick analysis of the League One fixtures, using average attendance as a proxy shows EF got screwed slightly less than Peterhead, but not by much. Partick got a MUCH better draw, with an expected attendance premium well above that of any other 5 home games in the final third teams...and that includes the Championship as well. In the Championship they did a pretty nice job of trying to even out things by having the teams that got the extra home game get lower drawing teams on average. In fact, the teams with the extra home game were all bunched at the bottom of average attendance expectations, with one four game team. In League One, the marmalade was spread a bit less evenly.

Bayviewboy
Thistle have 14 home games as opposed to 13. They are at home twice v Falkirk, Airdrie, Montrose and East Fife - the teams who finished second, third, fourth and fifth in League 1 this season, so possibly the biggest threats to them. They start the season away and finish at home - no issue with that and that or vice versa should be the case for all clubs. Why have East Fife been drawn away on first and last day of the season ?Patrick and Falkirk will be the teams with the largest travelling supports so to maximise the income for other clubs to help them survive, why was it not put into the mix that teams would have 3 of the six games against them at home ? East Fife at home once against each.Peterhead and Cove are the two ‘camel treks’ this season and surprise, surprise, East Fife play them both twice away ! We even have the pleasure of back to back ‘camel treks’ in April ! At least it’s not in December like last year.I know, you are never going to get exactly what you would like in terms of fixtures, but again it looks like we’ve been shafted and teams like Patrick have been given a fixture list that has been done to give them the best possible chance of going back up as compensation for being relegated due to Covid 19.

Life on Marrs?
Might not have full capacity, or away fans before end of year, or hospitality. So having an extra home game might work out better financially than an extra home game v Falkirk/Partick. As I said yesterday, our main pkay off rivals will likely be Airdrie, Clyde, Montrose, we've 2 homes against them. Strategically might work in our favour. Also we've proved we can't seem to go the full distance, the shorter season may help aleviate that issue.

Radford
Absolutely loved Danny Swanson for most of his time in Perth and even last season he still contributed despite very little game time. Like all older players, he's going to lose it at some point and his physique doesn't extend itself to him playing into his late thirties. If he's still fit, you'll love him but Darren Young will pretty much just need to tell him to go out and play and enjoy himself, he won't be tracking back and helping out the full back.
smuggfifer
If you look at our fixtures for the last few seasons , you'll see why the thinking is like that. Once = computer generated , Twice= computer generated and probability stretch, Third= you have to question it! ahhhh conspiracy!!!!! C'mon.
