smuggfifer
If we can keep playing the football on the deck , and keep the passing neat, then there is nothing to fear at Hampden. QP will be organised and committed as usual, bit patience and sticking to the game plan will create the breaks.

DonnellyStirratMorrison
Well, here we are again following another defeat. To all the people who have been talking of a play-off place, are you sure you are talking about the right end of the league. Let's have a reality check. We are now seventh, conceded 35 goals, minus 7 of a goal difference, the 3 teams below us have kicked our a**e some twice, of the points we have picked up only Forfar, Arbroath and Airdrie at home didn't require a massive slice of luck to get the 3 points. We can't seem to defend set pieces or score from our own corners?? The next 2 games, Arbroath away and Raith at home, expected points zero. We have played well at times as last weeks first half against Ayr but not nearly often enough. We are well and truly in the s**t.

We're not quite in the shit just yet but we're heading that way quite quickly. Interesting comments from Darren Young after game Yesterday, he's clearly feeling the pressure. Next few league games are massive but we have to be realistic, this is our level and it has been all my lifetime with the exception of one season, where we were promoted to the old 1st division and it was a season to forget. Next 2 league games are certainly not easy but we have to keep the faith. Fingers crossed we can turn our season around and fight for a play off place at the right end of the table and we also have a great chance to progress in the cup with a home tie v Brora. Merry Xmas all. [emoji482]
smuggfifer
Quite agree KK, less of this negative stuff, it's been our downfall for years , we are where we are and need to get behind the team instead of sticking the boot in
fifer67
Think Darren’s post match comments are understandable, I’m feeling his pain watching individual error after individual error week after week. When a manager says post match that the opposition wanted it more that is really like a boot in the bollocks. The league is still incredibly tight with most teams having had a bad run, unfortunately it seems to be our turn right now. On our day we can compete in this league ,but we could be doing with a leader on the park someone who demands high standards and effort. The lads will just need to keep working hard in training and hope we can turn the corner. Now half way through the season and our report card would say far too inconsistent. Think Darren has to find a different style of play where we are harder to beat, I just get the feeling we are a soft touch.Every time a team has rolled up their sleeves and got in our faces we have lost the battle.. I would say one thing if we can’t find a formation or system that improves our goals against column it will be difficult to win games of football.Dont know if there is much wiggle room in the transfer window but a few guys loans will be coming to an end , hopefully Darren has a few guys in mind who can come in and and improve our fortunes.
smuggfifer
One thing I have noticed , and has been a contributor to eventual goals against. We don't concede enough free kicks in the middle of the park. Other teams will stop you in your tracks in midfield if they feel they have to, we let them run to the edge of the box unhindered, then commit ourselves with the inevitable outcome. Just an observation though

Yur maw punts cooncil
The most basic, one dimensional team a have ever seen at bayview. A have never seen so many basic players play in one team. The lack of creativity is frighting. Can't wait till the day when we finally get reminded what a decent winger looks like......someone who actually make it to the opposite box to put a cross in. TBH a think youngs squad have over achieved so far this season mostly due to poor opposition, not us playing well. We're now starting to unravel as the opposition find there feet.
The Pastmaster
Whilst Young will go down in ARFC history as the guy who managed the League Two Championship side - and kept them there in Division One - much of the credit must go to Sandy Clarke and Billy Stark his assistants as both seemed to step in and `steady the ship` when things were slipping from Young`s grasp. East Fife is best
Get him signed straight away to give us the boost we need for the derby and the rest of the season we all know he is a proven goal scorer at this level would be foolish to leave it to late and he goes else where and comes back to haunt us
