Taxi get those stats on AFTN as well? or maybe from Woolworths or John Menzies?

Banter aside as a previous poster said if you can’t see that Balde is a player then I can’t help you.

Arguably MoM in a handful of our games this season. On Saturday I think two different sites on social medial voted him as player of the week in our division.

Whit..you cannae get pick n mix anymore! Jeeso how times have changed since AFTN disappeared. Seriously though, it's all about opinions.

It is work in progress and you cannot deny that we are now more competitive than we were earlier in the season.  I agree about the "fannying" (what does that actually mean) about too much at the back, but in that game against Elgin, they made it very difficult to get through them after the sending off and in hindsight, the long ball launched into their box would probably have been the better option in the 1st half.  BUT, after they scored, they looked for the winner and their defence was not so solid as a result, what happened?  We started to get through them still playing football, not long balls, and forced the penalty to win the game.  You said we were bullied by Dumbarton, but so did Bonnyrigg at Bayview and we gave them a good gubbing at Bonnyrigg!  If you can't see any progress, then you are blinkered.

Not once did I mention progress.

Definition of "fannying" - playing the ball across the back constantly until the opposition press you high up the park and you inevitably give it away thus giving them the opportunity to punish you.

How long did it take you to sit and come up with all this in your head. What a load of utter lies!! I suppose the next time you post you will say football is a game of opinions but if you cant see how good balde is then im speechless.

I'll respond Mr E so as not to let you down. First time poster so please be gentle. I've been to most games with the exception of Elgin away. Where we are is purely down to the poor quality of all bar one team in the league and they presently sit top. Yesterday was a hard watch, 10 men and plenty of attack minded players but we fanny about at the back. A goal was inevitable. Play the game in their half at least. £18 is tough to pay, even worse watching that.
The signings have been pretty poor. I've read comments on Facebook and AFTN and in fairness a lot of people make good points.
Fleming looks shaky, Mercer uninterested, Steel gives me the fear every time he is on the ball and Murdoch looks like he is towing a caravan. Denham has been outstanding and has real potential. Palmer looks like a duck out of water and what has happened to Williamson, was excellent in pre season and league Cup! Taken off at 2-0 up at Annan and hasn't been seen since. We drew 2-2.
Ferguson will not be here after Christmas, he has been outstanding and deserves to be playing in a higher league. Fingers crossed he stays, didn't have a great game at Stenny when Liam Craig was watching so hopefully that works in our favour.
Trouten looks uninterested unless it's a penalty, Balde flatters to deceive and Steven needs to go back to U/20 football. He came on yesterday, did nothing and failed to chase anything down. Has he even scored? Healy has been good, dips in with great goals but only in flashes and Shepherd runs himself ragged. We miss Walls energy and a true dirty leader who roasts his team mates and motivates those around him.
Hopefully Mcdonald has some fresh ideas. To be fair, a good run but Forfar, Bonnyrigg and Elgin aren't good teams. Stenny beat us twice, Stirling ran over us and Dumbarton bullied us.
Anyhow at least we ain't down at the trapdoor. Mon the Fife.

Any time you’re prepared to admit that you’re wrong about Balde, we’re ready to accept your apology.

Morning Mr E lovely to hear from you. I wasn't at the game but from reports Balde was indeed the standout so fair play and congratulations to him on his two goals. I apologise when I genuinely do something wrong so in expressing an opinion I'm afraid it won't be forthcoming on this occasion. Unfortunate for us allowing him to take the penalty, very naive decision but I see the sentiment.

On the game from the highlights, never a red in a million years. It does further the case of poor refeeeing and defending by Steele getting caught again with a ball over the top.

I notice Steven coming on, if as another suggests this is to do with game time / wage payments then he needs to go back. Adds nothing and it's time Cunningham got a run out.

Be interesting to see how we shape up next week as Stirling will be gutted at losing to Annan.

Mikey Cunningham away onloan to Cowdenbeath for the rest of the season and has signed a new contract according to twitter.

Least one of our subs is getting a game elsewhere I guess.

Great that he is going to hopefully get game time. Bizarre about the contract extension but fair play.  Think Slattery and Williamson will follow suit and await what comes in in January to better what's there.

Only thoughts behind the extension is that if he impresses there we can command a fee. Seems like a good kid but not cut out for this level imo.

I would think the idea behind the extension is if he impresses we'll get him back. Hard to tell with his limited chances if he's cut out for our level, but with regular game time he may prove his worth.

Seems like a move that suits the player, Cowden & hopefully us.

Slattery is possibly due a testimonial year next year, would be surprised if he is looking to move!!!

The exceptionally sparing way he is getting game time makes it unlikely to me he will be kept on to get a testimonial unless he is contracted for another season. He has been a good player for East Fife. Although he never gave spectacular performances you were always assured you would get a hard working shift from him. I for one would like to see him get a testimonial for his loyalty over the years.

Sorry for being critical here but slattery one those players either if we don’t have anyone to come off the bench the manager plays why would we keep him on for another season of mediocrity and accept where we are! We need improve and get back to league 1…but that’s my take on it. I accept jack Healy contract he looks like one for the future what does slattery and Cunningham offer?

maybe I’m harsh or not.

Greig McDonald still getting an easy ride from the fans but not much positive to come out of that today. We are hardly a threat going forward with the exception of Healy who is making good improvement. The defending is absolutely shambolic and it is given the team a mountain to climb every game. Hardly any intensity to our play and we get opened up with ease time after time. Fleming kept us in that game up to half time but you knew we were odds on to lose more goals after the break. Crowds below 500 how far are we going to fall we need some experience brought in and some height and physical presence at the back. We really can’t afford another crap transfer window as the last 3 or 4 have put us in this dodgy position of getting drawn into a fight for survival.
