Were not talking about results, were talking about an individual player. Aye he puts in some decent crosses, but I could lose count every game of how many shite crosses he puts in as well. He needs to harden himself up, for the size of guy he is he doesn't win anywhere near enough headers and gets pushed off the ball far too easily. More often than not his heads down and shifts responsibility as he doesn't want it.

For players who've failed to graduate the academies of professional clubs such as Rangers and Celtic there are two common obstacles to their subsequent development in my opinion. The first of those is the psychological obstacle of coming to terms with a perception of failure. The second is access to good coaching and competitive football, a resource obstacle. Far too many players leave the game with untapped potential in Scotland. If you want to contend otherwise it seems to me as though you would have to argue that our academies succeed largely in recruiting players who are bound for the lowest tier of professional football and below. After all, look at how their drop-outs feed what's now the Scottish Championship and the leagues below it.

Scott Durie is case in point. As may be some of the other names which have been mentioned here. The point I want to make is this: it's not necessarily a cause for despondence that Clyde are looking at such players even if they've had a forgettable year or two at another club. In the last decade the season I greatest enjoyed was 2005/2006. One in which Clyde's squad was made up almost entirely of players recently freed from SPL sides and freed not long after they had graduated their academies - if they had at all. The rare talent of the management and coaches then was to have the players stare the reality of their situation in the face and say, 'Look, we'll work with you all individually and give you a showcase opportunity; we'll also make damn sure you know what it is to be a team'. Some Clyde supporters I know think that 05/06 is an unrepeatable episode in the club's history. I disagree. If Clyde can foster the same defiant attitude as they did among their squad then and at the same time get good, focused coaching on the go then there is no reason why they cannot emulate its success. All things being to scale of course.

McColm will be sacrifised ,of that I've no doubt ,the 2 fullbacks will need to have an engine ,if they going to play under fergusson ,that is why durie has signed he certainly can get up and down the flanks ,although his defensive attributes could be better

Mike, you've done nothing but natter about what Ferguson will/won't do, whats the story??? Are you even a Clyde supporter??? I'm prepared to wager your calling for Watt is a double bluff, and all you've done is quote statistics, rather than sounding like you have actually watched him play. We seem to have acquired a right few gargoyles with 'insider knowledge' of late, and their smartarse remarks and daily soundbites are absolutely ball-bustingly poorly worded and even provocative with questions, rather than statements and opinions like a believable fan would come out with. Theres plenty of Clyde fans i disagree with, but wouldn't level an accusation like that at them.....not once have you used wrds like 'we' or 'us'. You're turning into fucking Dryhorce.

I don't try to come across as some know all ,which I'm not ,but it has become apparent that if u disagree with certain people on here ,your oppinion don't count ,if I think a player merits criticism or praise then I say so

An opinion counts, no matter how outrageous or just plain wrong you may be, if it can be quantified that its intended action is to benefit the team, as the single solitary reason behind it. If you think McColm's a diddy, then thats up to you. If you've watched him and just don't fancy him. But we dont need day-to-day commentary based on your (in my opinion) up-for-debate agenda. You're not the only one, by the way. Countless snakes have weedled their way into positions of authority and grandeur at our club over the years, and scuttled off when they got found out. You'll never make that level, from what i've seen, but keep em' comin'.
