North Korea ...again

Syria had their airbase up and running within 24 hours of that US attack by 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles, which prompted someone on the Radio 4 "Now" show to say that when Gatwick Airport comes under attack from a shower of snow it generally takes at least 3 days to get it operational again!

Maybe something to do with the Yanks not targeting the runways.

That whole thing was a message - don't use chemical weapons. It also told the Syrians that the Russians can't protect them.

All for a few dozen missiles and minimal casualties.

Incidentally, the Syrian Air Force officer in charge of the chemical attack died a few days later in a mystery car bomb. A fair bit of "telt" getting handed out I think.

North Korea will continue to test missiles despite international condemnation and increasing military tensions with the United States, a senior official has told the BBC.
"We'll be conducting more missile tests on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis," Vice Foreign Minister Han Song-Ryol told the BBC's John Sudworth in Pyongyang.

Im starting to feel like something will actually happen this time, both sides have usually backed down by this stage but each seems to be trying to provoke the other into starting. Its suicide for wee Kim, if he doesn't follow through the people with real power in NK will call him spineless and look to replace him, if he continues he's gonna lead his country into a war they have no chance of winning. He must be actually following thru at this point.

Just have to hope enough of the NK generals are sane enough not to have some death cult thing going on and sort it out, with or without the crazy fat kid.

Best solution would be a military coup and their dynasty removed, then a deal done with South Korea.

Agreed, cause this will just go on never ending, the first in line was of course ousted then eventually murdered because he wasn't as tyrannical as the old man. So if the wee fatty survives this situation when it comes time to name his successor there's no chance anyone who has idea's of reform or change will be permitted in

I've got more confidence in the checks and balances facing the crazy old man than the fat kid.

Yeah because the US have this great record of doing the right thing and never ever getting involved in unavoidable conflicts.

Would you rather NK continued to provoke people with threats of Nukes tho? The US and SK have a long standing partnership so the US are rather obligated to get involved in this particular situation, to be fair i'd much rather see them dealing with this than dropping bombs randomly in the middle east

Why should the US be allowed to have nuclear weapons and North Korea not?

Why should the US be so determined to ensure North Korea abide by a non-proliferation treaty that they don't even accept whilst ignoring Israels nuclear weapons programme?

How many countries has North Korea invaded, attacked or undermined in relation to the number of countries the US has attacked, invaded or undermined?

How many Missiles have the US fired close to nations under the guise of innocent missile tests? How many nations have the US threatened with Nuclear war?
