I don't think it will. BAE systems are the only British commerical concern building warships. Their only functional yard is going to be on the Clyde. Exactly how will the Uk government strong arm BAE into moving production down south after a Yes vote?

They won't but they could stop contracts going to BAE at all as if the UK didn't have a ship buildig capability all future contracts would presumably be open to international tender?

Thought Sturgeon was excellent today at FMQ's. Totally light years ahead of Lamont, who did indeed get ripped a new one.

Well worth watching again. A rerun of today's first ministers questions & listen to Nicola Sturgeon blow the Unionists line of attack right out of the water.
The defence minister, Philip Hammond, has been in discussions whilst out in Australia about conjoined development of the new frigates. The last Labour Govt. made enquires, looking for a deal, with the Aussies, Canada, Malaysia & Turkey!
But they won't deal with an Independent Scotland.
Source? The Royal Navy's website it would seem.

I thought Lamont was excellent and exposed how anti English Sturgeon is.

Sturgeon is pretending independence has already been voted in,living in a world of fantasy.

Norway,Norway Norway!

Can you imagine what rotten relations with the UK Scotland will have with people like Salmond and Sturgeon running the show.

It will be a disaster for Scotland.

The sooner Scotland vote back in a Labour Government within the UK the better.

Yes,the UK has good relations with many countries.

The UK Government know full well that making deals for a country that may be about to leave the Union is not a good move.

Will inde Scotland allow eg Portsmouth to build their ships?

Thought not.

Lamont was excellent!

Such Irony.

It's easy to see that the Scotland UK relationship will not be good with such anti English people as Sturgeon,Salmond and Co running things up north.

The thought of this will worry and sadden Scots.

I just can't see these kind of people winning the referendum.

Go on then have the platform.

Can you tell me in what areas you thought Johann Lamont was "Excellent", and make your case for a Labour government in Scotland.

She & her cohorts, must have thought the same, going by the look on their faces.

It was admirable, but not in a Naval sense, how she ploughed on with her script as per.

Can you imagine how she will get unscripted in some leaders debate!

Sturgeon is cementing her place as the third best member of the SNP (after Salmond and Hosie)
