With unionism in decline in Scotland is there any clout to keeping the Union together considering independence for other countries in Europe has been successful?. Has the Union been successful, well does it matter when we are all part of Europe (the EU) and the free market? On the other side I find Alex Salmond a bit of a self promoting tit, but then its about the bigger picture rather than one individual's place in history. So many questions so many issues?. This is partially proven by their support of giving their Independence straight back to the EU. So yeah, they'll be an independent nation... with around 2.5% of real power. Scotland came ahead of Morocco and Amsterdam, with scenes from the latest Bond film cited as evidence of the country's appeal for tourists. CNN said anyone who had seen Skyfall, part of which was filmed in Glencoe, would have left the cinema wishing they could "race through Scotland's dramatic countryside." VisitScotland welcomed the accolade. CNN highlighted the myriad of outdoor events taking place in Scotland in 2013, including the Open Championship golf tournament in July, the Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight in September and the Dumfries and Galloway Wildlife Festival, which starts in March. "Endorsements such as this really help to secure Scotland's leading position on the global tourism map as a must-see destination."
