jakedee
Seen this, although no longer play the game, would be a fitting tribute
lichtie23
I see it’s been announced his death was unexpected. Cue all the anti vaxxers blaming the vaccine
RiG
When I started watching the NFL in the late 80s / early 90s he was a fixture on commentary. I probably remember him best alongside Pat Summerall on the Super Bowls of the time with the 49ers often a feature. An absolute icon of the sport. Rest in Peace.

resk
Madden '93 on the Mega Drive got me into NFL, and the Bills, because Thurman Thomas was lightning quick. It would be a bit harsh to blame the big guy for three decades of misery, so I won't. RIP you absolute ledge xxx

Gogs Grog
John Madden is a voice from my past and part of why I started watching and loving the nfl when it was on channel 4. Made me understand the game with his yellow marks on the screen with his own. Unseen on UK tv at that time.RIP.

My flat mate and I would play that game almost everyday. He'd go Miami and I'd pick the Bills. Hand off to Thomas was a guaranteed TD almost everytime!

Antiochas III
Madden is a legend of the game and it's such a shame what EA Sports done to that franchise of a game. Also, not been a great 2 or so weeks for Washington. Losing players to Covid, Safety Everritt being in a car crash which led to a young lady's death, witnessed by two other players on Christmas Eve and now Montez Sweat's brother has been murdered...
Boo Khaki
https://www.nfl.com/news/finalists-for-pro-football-hall-of-fame-class-of-2022-revealed The weakest cohort of HoF finalists I can ever remember seeing. For me the only no-brainer selections are Holt, Wayne, Johnson, and Sam Mills. Everyone else is a 'meh' and a maybe in a really weak year to make up the numbers. They usually select 6 or 7, so I think a couple will sneak in who really don't deserve it. It's supposed to be an honour for the very best, not just a place you put people in because they were good for a short while or above average across a career.
Bully Wee Villa
Hester better get in. Anyway, why no Saturday games this week, FFS?

pozbaird
How can Carson Wentz get Covid? He wears a wee mask. I’m baffled.
Boo Khaki
34 minutes ago, Bully Wee Villa said: Hester better get in. Anyway, why no Saturday games this week, FFS? I'm not sure Hester should get in the HoF for scoring a literal handful of touchdowns more than Brian Mitchell, Dave Meggett, Eric Metcalf, Mel Gray etc. His punt return yardage isn't top of the pile, and he's not even top 10 in Kick return yardage, so as electric as he was, if you are going to put Hester in then it just looks utterly bizarre considering none of the others have ever been a semi-finalist. I'm not saying Hester should never be a HoF'er, only that going by the fact the very best returners before Hester are evidently nowhere near HoF, then I don't see how they could justify it. Personally I think Mel Gray is the best return specialist I've ever seen play, but ordinarily ST'ers don't usually come up for consideration besides the very best kickers and punters. I'd have had Steve Tasker in the HoF years ago purely because of his ST play, and not because of his kick returns.
pozbaird
Arrived yesterday. £27. That’s me set for the London games. Can’t believe it was 2010, the first, and so far only, Broncos game in London. My original Reebok ‘Wembley 10’ jersey can have a wee rest next yesr.
Bully Wee Villa
Hester is the best kick returner ever, he should, and will, go in the Hall of Fame. He has more return touchdowns than any other player. If you're top of any significant stat you'll get into the HoF.
Brummie Clyde
Hester will get in on the strength of being the first player to get 100/100 on a stat on Madden....
