Anyone else taken part of the Project Bramham crowdfunding project and if so which level did you take update? Got an email asking for my info to take up my 'early bird' package and there was an option to take up further packages.......really tempted with the race engineering package for my cousin. Anyone chosen that option?

Jean-Pierre Beltoise has passed away. Despite having a severely weakened arm (the legacy of a crash early in his career) he went on to become a regular in F1, scoring BRM's final win at Monaco in 1972. He married François Cevert's sister.

Anyone who had watched the Indy Cars series over the last 5 years will remember the name of Brian Barnhart, he was the chief race steward who had previous brought us great decisions such as restarting an oval race while it was still damp

And the Blocking rule which lead to this bizarre call against Helio in Edmonton

Well, he's back in charge again . He'll be painting lines down the middle of corners on the road courses soon.

Bathurst 12hr race this weekend, live stream can be found here - http://www.bathurst12hour.com.au/live-int

Currently going through practice and qualifying, also showing the support races. Now is Formula Ford, about 30 of them. Lovely.

I've been looking forward to this race all week, the last two 12hr races from Bathurst were epic.

7 & a half hours to go and the Erebus Merc driven by Dean Canto leads

A few ex F1 drivers racing, I see Mika Salo, Markus Winkelhock, David Brabham, Andrea Montermini and Ivan Capelli.

Other known names I see Guy Smith, Steven Kane, Andy Soucek, Harold Primat, Stephane Ortelli, Dean Canto, Steve Richards, Craig Baird, (Old Stig) Ben Collins, Stefan Mucke, Matt Halliday, Oliver Gavin, Gordon Shedden, Davide Rigon, Marcus Marshall

Certainly a good standard of driver racing around the mountain.

Due to Bernie Ecclestone being a money grabbing shitehawk dwarf the Fantasy Racers website isn't running Fantasy F1 this season.

However, I have found an alternative website. The rules are fairly similar although there are a few tweaks - can't be bothered explaining the changes, read them yourselves!

The website is http://badgergp.com/fantasygp/ (yes, it really is called Badger GP). It's all fairly easy to sign up. Once you're all sorted click on friends leagues and choose the one called Formula Fun. The passcode to join is 803617. You'll know it's the right one if my Team Smiley Dan is there.

Pass the details on to get as many folk in as possible.

The Scottish Rally championship kicked off yesterday with the Snowman Rally. I went to the last stage at the back of Contin with the camera (photo's below) in the hope of catching Bogie's Fiesta R5+ but another disappointing outing for him in the Snowman saw him retire at the service stage after SS2 with clutch issues. Jock Armstrong won the rally by 16 seconds over Bruce McCombie, after a tense battle between the 2 of them throughout the rally, in fact I think it was 7 seconds between them going into the last stage.

The rally finished late after delays in SS1 due to the large number of spectators who made it out to the stage, the last stage was almost 2 hours late which meant I've still not fully defrosted from the exposure to the elements......roll on the summer months.
