Sons' sorrow

Rotten again today. Our CB’s only lump the ball up to Byrne. Worked when gemmel was on but that was it. We can’t afford to sack SF so what’s next? Surely he can see it’s not working

I just don’t buy this “we can afford to sack him” line. Especially now as he has 8 months left on his current deal.

He should be gone imo. Today we set out to draw, the stats don’t lie.

I think the next few games are key for Farrell and maybe our season where we see where we really are.

It’s a concern that we go into next week and maybe beyond with one recognised forward in Byrne, presuming Wallace and Gemmell aren’t available.

We lack creativity in the opposing half and despite having lots of the ball and some good passages of play, we haven’t been working the goalkeeper often enough. Least said about last week the better but key now that we get wins in the next two games to hopefully rid ourselves of this mini hoodoo we’re in.

Farrell is going absolutely nowhere whilst we sit 2nd in the league. Whether you agree with that or not, he wasn’t bagged for relegating us or taking us on one of the one worst runs of form I’ve ever witnessed as a Sons fan so absolutely not a chance he’s going anywhere anytime soon.

We only have one recognised forward tbh. Wallace isn’t a striker, maybe he was in the past, but he certainly isn’t now. I’m not actually sure what he is tbh, other than a useless wee fat turd.

As for John Gemmell - the fact we are starting him in October 2022 is genuinely parody stuff. I’m still in complete disbelief his signing was lauded at the time and I’m now seeing some of those same folk call for the gaffers head like that wasn’t the biggest warning sign of them all.

No doubt he’ll be on to like this shortly, the big weirdo.

I’m sorry but I haven’t seen one good passage of play today. It was an absolute scrap. We genuinely don’t think there was 6 consecutive passes the whole match. Please name me one good passage of play from today.

Our style of play is absolutely non existent and the position of Farrell has to be seriously looked at before Christmas.

Absolutely no part of that was acceptable today.

We started the game pretty poorly and struggled to improve enough. Quite why we insist on playing long balls is a mystery given that we've got an attacking midfielder who loves running at people. Unfortunately we've taken to playing him really deep. Ross McLean is nowhere near starting right now. Whether it's injury or confidence, he's doing nothing. Ally Love was poor until the injury and I saw Kirsten talking to a paramedic about it at the end of the game. Lots of gesturing to the knee. Ryan Wallace is absolutely hopeless - at least his absence due to an idiotic red card won't hurt us too much.

Really not looking forward to the Cumnock game now. It was always a potential banana skin, but with us in this form? It's genuinely no better than 50/50 whether or not we'll go through. We need to rapidly rethink how we play and find some kind of starting 11 and style that stops our run of piss poor performances.

And the wee fuds standing outside the ground letting off a smoke bomb and then throwing it over the fence and onto the park. They need to spend more time watching Pornhub and less time wanking over European ultras videos on Youtube.

Gemmell apparently had done a ligament and is basically looking at being out for the year.
Wallace showing on flashscores as being sent off but I thought he got a yellow?

Wallace got a red card after the final whistle. No idea what for.

I wouldn't be so sure.  His position will be under scrutiny precisely because we were relegated and there is an expectation that we will at the least be in the mix for promotion.

That is now looking weaker by the week and in case anyone noticed we are no longer top of the league.  A cup-tie this Friday at Cumnock has gone from a novelty away day to a potential fright night.

With two points from twelve we have lost our way and the Manager has resorted to selection and substitute bingo.  At the moment I have no other ambition other than to avoid being sucked towards the lower end of this division - folk can quote stats all they like but I'll trust what I'm watching.

Don't be daft. We are currently joint top. Farrell isn't going to walk and we certainly aren't going to sack him. Regardless of form, he was backed at the start of the season. Yes he maybe shouldve gone at the end of the season but he didn't. He's 8 months left, he will see out that contract I'm 99% sure of that. If we go up, I'm pretty sure the board will consider it. If we don't it will likely be a parting of the ways. Asking for him sacked just now is stupidity.

100%

The product on the pitch is absolute shite and if you’re not concerned now then you’ve either not been watching (which is fine) or you’re deluded.

It’s a funny game and how people see things.  I thought Gray/Blair and Orsi and Lynas were involved in some decent small passages of play.

That said, Orsi’s final ball was poor, as was Finlay Gray’s decision making when it came to the final ball/shot but decent bits of play nonetheless.  I’m by no means happy with the performance as we were very poor overall, but small crumbs to be taken.

And for me Wallace actually showed some decent link-up play when he came on.  Byrne showed a modicum of it but he’s not a link up man.  We need to get the ball to him in the box far more.  He was having to drop far too deep today which is a large part of our problem.

I’m sorry but I’ve no idea what you’ve been watching but it wasn’t the game today.

There was no linkup play or any kind of organised play whatsoever. Absolute shambles for the past few weeks and not much better before that either.

Well opinions are like arseholes…

I’m not saying we played well at all, but we did have decent small passages.  But that’s nowhere near good enough.  Today wasn’t a shambles.  Last week was a shambles.

Today we were slow, didn’t do enough in the final third, lost the ball too much in the middle of the park and played to AR’s defensive strengths, but a shambles, come on.

Do you genuinely believe this board will sack him in the near future? They have shown absolutely nothing to suggest they will - whether you, me, Pele the Elephant or anyone else wants him to go. If they backed him after last season then there isn’t a hope in hell his position is in jeapordy at the minute.

I’d forgotten it was Cumnock next week. I’d really fancy them to put us out, on our current form. That would really leave a sour taste.

Given the supporter reaction to Bonnyrigg, I think that would really cause the goodwill Farrell built up in the first seven games to evaporate.
