Correct decision to not try and extend his loan. He wasn’t given a great deal of game time but when he was I thought he looked fairly rubbish. I suppose it’s hard to show any sort of form when you are only getting cameo appearances but he made pretty much zero impact from the bench and often left the full back badly exposed. But he really was nowhere near starting for us, and it was a bit of a waste of his time sitting on our bench rather than Morton's. He showed flashes of being a good player, but he just wasn't really cut-out for the way we play - which relies on wingers doing a power of defensive work. The fact he's been kept out the team by (amongst others) a couple of Morton off-cuts in Kalvin Orsi and Ross MacLean probably doesn't bode too well. But in the right team he'd be a good asset at this level I'm sure. He's played for Morton this season and now us; so he can't play for a third team, can he? Didn't appear to know where he should be and offered very little other than a breakaway goal against Stranraer. I'd expected the crowd to have nudged to close to 1,000 at the time. However, it's also dependent on away support which we don't really see. However, as you mention, many folk are really struggling right now and we can't ignore that. On the plus side I think the club has really stepped up this season in terms of supporter engagement and what support we have is fiercely loyal. We're now at the halfway point and we have reached that marker. Despite a minging first half of 2022, it's good to end the year on a high and hopefully we can keep that going into 2023 and beyond. We're not perfect by any means but we're getting there.
