Sons' sorrow

Quite strange to sign another ‘creative’ midfielder, with the two Wilson’s and McKee already on the books.

He's not very creative in fairness. It's all very sideways really and quite lightweight. Telfer will be along shortly to tell you what a fantastic diagonal passer of the ball he is as one time he hit a fantastic diagonal pass.

Another one for the Dumbarton Job Squad.

Called it, I’m not sure why I expected anything less.

Where Blair pitches up, Biabi ain't far behind.

The Job Squad may be more wholesome before the day is out.

Ryan Blair, as others before me have written, is a neat and tidy midfielder who's quite good at keeping things ticking over. His best attribute is his left foot and his ability to thump long, raking diagonal passes into the channels whenever the space opens up.

He is not a creative player, he's not much of a goal threat, his set-pieces are often wayward and, worst of all, he's flimsy and lightweight and will be overwhelmed by any opponent who is aggressive or enthusiastic. You'll need to have someone alongside him as a ball winner but he's really not good enough to offer that kind of indulgence.

Good luck!

We've also signed Aron Lynas, former captain of Albion Rovers. He follows Ryan McGeever, Willie Dyer, Isaac Layne, Kalvin Orsi and Paddy O'Neil in our attempts to sign every single member of Brechin City's 2017-18 squad.

Lynas from Albion Rovers next.

Wholesome Job Squad signing that.

Can only go on our games against Albion Rovers last season but he was torn to bits by Euan O'Reilly time and again it was laughable.

Same for every club and signings really you can only judge players when they pull on your own shirt but what Dumbarton are assembling here will definitely be mulling about the lower end of the division IMHO.

This squad looks like an absolute gang. The nine from last season are mostly overpaid deadweight and the ones that are any good, Farrell either doesn’t know how to use or have a huge question mark over fitness.

The players we’ve added, other than Long, look mediocre at best.

Get us doon.

Even if we’d assembled something better, they’d be doing that anyway with tactical genius Stevie Farrell in charge.

Looks like we are following Brechin's trajectory too.
