Sons' sorrow

One of the best players I have ever seen in a Sons jersey. Never missed a penalty and a free kick just outside the box was almost as good as a penalty when Charlie took it Not far off a goal every other game from the middle of the park

Hmmmm....in the crucial 2-1 evening win over Stirling Albion at Boghead on 11th April 1972, Charlie had a first-half penalty blocked at the Turnberry End by George Young which he then followed up Harry Kane style to ram home for Sons opening goal.

The one thing I remember about Charlie was that his face was bright red inside 15 mins and he kept a hankie up his sleeve and was constantly wiping his nose. Condolences to his family and friends.

It makes me feel very old indeed to see something posted here by a granddaughter of Hugh Harra.  He is an abiding memory from my youth watching the Sons at Boghead. Opposing players always had a tough time playing against him.

Thank you for your kind words X

Is he one these guys we’re just signing for the sake if it so we can fulfill these daft league cup fixtures? Or is he an actual signing?

Given the lack of build up and things it certainly seems like I could be the former. I mean, we can all see that Paddy Boyle may not manage all that many appearances this season and we need cover, so it ticks that box at least...

Would we bother taking photos of him holding a Sons scarf if he's only here for a few weeks?

Looks to me like the deal for Wilson (the Elgin full back) has fallen apart and Muir has been drafted in as the replacement. I'm glad the lad is an actual left back as we seemed to be signing up about 8 players who can fill in at right back with nothing on the other side. Having been released by Motherwell in the summer hopefully he's got a fire in his belly to succeed.

Who is Bill Heaney? How does he know all of this?

Former editor of the Lennox Herald.

A career journalist, he was also Labour's Henry McLeish's press officer/ spin doctor at one time.

My question is did the TRUST have any inkling of this or has it come as a surprise to them as much as those of us on here?

Bit of a worry that a retired journo with an online blog has info like that.

Where's Balls of Steele?

Andy Hosie involved in some criminal shit? Who could've guessed it.

He should've been chased away from the club years ago but too many Sons fans thought it was fine because his name is familiar. He's a fucking dodgy b*****d that really should be in jail for his previous fraudulent misdemeanours. We're now apparently being told of evidence that he owes some money to a gangster and he's trying to sell our assets off to pay them. In addition to that, some c**t called Andy Sweeney, who we've never fucking heard of, claims to own all of our assets.

If any Sons fans (or Bill Heaney for that matter) have evidence of these emails I would strongly suggest involving the police. I would also strongly advise sharing it with the Trust representative so that the fans can be reliably informed rather than reading existential crisis stuff in a fucking retired journalists blog. John Steele needs to give his side of this immediately too.

What a fucking shambles.
