the snudge
St Johnstone have released commerative "I wasn't there" mugs for the league Cup final. We should do that for this season

Well this week it's Paddy Flannery's turn. Normally players give me a line or two and that's it. Paddy sent me 1400 words, with stats, a manager and all-sorts. It's cut down a wee bit, but I reckon you lot will find it quite interesting. Please go out and a buy a copy to help pay my wages for another week. For all of you who have waited patiently and followed Government travel guidelines by remaining in Larbert, Sussex or Tennessee (if Pachy still kicks about here) - here's a link to Paddy's Dream Team. GordyBrow
I’m a huge fan of that team but my god that midfield isn’t going to do much in the way of protecting the defence. Great to hear his praise of Andy Brown too, he made that era of teams tick.

So many legends in that team. In hindsight, it’s surprising we didn’t do much better in that era.

That defence doesn't need protecting In the print article I had to redesign the template to fit as much of Paddy's praise about Andy Brown in as I could. He really couldn't speak highly enough of him and couldn't understand why a section of our support gave him a fair amount of flak. That's Sons fans though, eh!
The Moonster
Bomber got stick for the same reason Nish did - aesthetics. Both big gangly and unsightly players but both extremely useful. Chris Kane wouldn't have scored the goals he did for us without Nish either.

Our fans really don't like an aesthetically displeasing striker, do they. Speaking of Chris Kane, by all accounts he was absolutely excellent yesterday for St Johnstone in the League Cup final. I'm delighted he's finally starting to show Saints fans how talented he is - and is finally getting a start every week. The goals might not be as free-flowing as they were for him at the Rock, but his all-round play seems to be causing all sorts of problems for defenders. I'm really pleased for him.

I remember Alloa fans laughing at me when I said I thought Chris Kane was better than Stevie May. The latter can barely get a game because the former these days.
George Parr
Colin Nish was a Scottish lower league Berba, although I understand why he pissed some folk off. His nonchalent headed goal in our 4-1 demoltion of Hammie Accies is football porn, NSFW and remains one of my favourite Dumbarton moments from one of the most enjoyable matches this century.

That day I was in the Allianz Arena watching Bayern Munich gub Werder Bremen. I was seeing the goals come through on rubbish stadium WiFI. To this day, I'm still annoyed at my lifestyle choices and missing the Accies demolition.

The Moonster
I was watching Mark Gilhaney goad Alex Neil into a red card from about 30 feet away and it was glorious.

The Moonster
Looks like football is back and we'll have until the end of March to make loan signings. If I was Duffy, I'd be phoning Hibs up right now.

He'll only realise when he turns up at training, and by that point it'll be too late to change anything. Anyway. Whilst I'm delighted that football is back, we do need to do some work on our squad. It's been so long since I bemoaned our lack of cutting edge and praised our incredible (and now departed) keeper for preventing a pumping. It's lovely to be able to post about Sons on here again rather than Covid mind you.
BallochSonsFan
What a difference a day makes. No news yesterday changes to a return to training this month. You'd expect games to return mid April following a 2 week training period. What changed in 24 hours that they couldnt make a decision yesterday but could give a bit of hope today?

We'll need to return before mid-April if we want to get things finished. Scottish cup going ahead as well, which we should be looking to play at least 2 fixtures in given the draw. That leaves 11 fixtures minimum to be completed by the 5th of May (start of the play-offs, which apparently Championship clubs don't want to shift from). Leitch seemed to suggest training could start imminently. If we can start training by Thursday this week and start games on the 20th of March I think that will give us enough time to complete the league games (assuming the league is cut to 18) and cup games before the play-offs start.
