Interesting to see what some of the Sons fans make of that,a few on here seemed delighted to be shot of him in the Summer.
The Moonster
Forbes looks pleased to be back. Good to have him signed up for next season too - I'd like to see us offer a few others some deals too tbh (Rico, McGeever and big Neill for starters). 2 minutes ago, nofixedability said: Interesting to see what some of the Sons fans make of that,a few on here seemed delighted to be shot of him in the Summer. It's just the usual "he doesnae run aboot!" folk that don't like him, you guys seem to have your fair share of them too.
GordyBrow
Delighted with that. Hopefully him signing a two year deal is a sign that Duffy fancies staying around.
George Parr
Good to see Ross back although I'd suggest he's down the pecking order now behind Master Mckee when it comes to set pieces. If we can pull another defender in (perhaps a young loanee) then this window will have been saved at the death.

I'm happy with him coming back. We were such a slow team last season and Duffy has addressed that so ai think we can afford to have him in the team now more than last year. That being said he was still class for us last season. DT gets all the plaudits, and rightfully so, but Forbes came up big when needed it.

Hottoddy22
I don’t know how much you’ve seen of Forbes lately but he wasn’t interested against Falkirk at the weekend. He looks overweight and spent most of his time moaning at his teammates. Maybe needing a change because he’s a good player when he’s interestedDefo one of the Forfar fatties they have about four carrying too much timber , Forbes especially

Can't wait to hear all the usual complaints as he's pinging in free kicks left, right and centre.

The Moonster
Have we ever had a player play for us in 3 separate spells?

I suppose if you count his loan as the first spell, then when he signed for us that summer as his second spell, that would count. But I'm not sure it counts His wiki also says "Dumbarton (second spell)" when discussing his last time with us, so try again!

In that case I will bow to the knowledge of the oldies, who I'm sure will come up with one.

But I do wonder if Duffy is thinking about going back to the 4-4-2 we used last year, with any two from those four playing together up front. It would allow Forbes to play right midfield, but it does mean dropping one of Carswell, Hutton and McKee. As I've said before though, options to change things like that could be huge for us. We really do need some defensive cover though, can't help but think releasing McMillan was daft. I think there was a fallout in all honesty because he preferred to recall Crawford instead when we all would have opted for Mcmillan.Deffo need someone in to cover at the back and we could see 3 or 4 being loaned out.Would gladly let Mccluskey go too...we never seem to win when he plays.
super-son
Definite squad improvement in the last week or 2. OUT: McMillan, Scullion, Frizzell, Shiels IN: J.Quitongo, Forbes, Wardop, Jones I would like to see us punt a few player out on loan like Zata, Crawford and McCluskey, but it would be dependent on getting a few replacements in. I'm trying to work out what our strongest starting lineup would be. Maybe one of the following:
FifeSons
The weak link in that lineup has to be Brennan. Don't see us signing a keeper though.

McGarci
the big striker was necesary. I rembember the playout against alloa that its big striker (I think was renton) made too much troubles with long balls on the other had forbes is similar than mckee? offensive good-midfield? maybe we change to 442 with them as false-wingers and 2 strikers finally another RB-CB is necessary IMO, who can cover the main 4 backs
