lionel wickson
I'm not sure, I think contracts need to be at least until the next window now. Even if it were possible we'd still need to pay them, so it eats into the budget again. We'd be better off just signing players that will be part of the squad. By the sounds of it we've had the entirety of Scotland on trial, so whittling those down and picking a few of them is Duffy's task for the next 14 days.I think Queen of the South have about 15 trialists training with them too.

We simply NEED to do that much work in 2 weeks or Duffy and Hagi will be getting the boots on themselves. Given that the spfl thought it was a good idea to replace pre-season with the league cup group stages I really don't understand the logic of having no trialists. Most clubs at the lower level will still be building a team (although maybe not quite to our extent) and to take away the opportunity of trying players out, which is what pre-season is for after all, just seems perverse.

Jan Vojáček
These are probably the best of the Facebook photos... Lewis Crawford (brother of DFC's very own Jack), Conor Brennan and two guys I don't recognise... Joe McKee in the compression socks, I think that's Tierney behind him in the grey boots, but not 100%. Sure I know the small guy behind McCluskey in the white Mercurials - but can't for the life of me think why, then Jordan McMillan behind Pettigrew. Anyone who can name the other guys will earn themselves a greenie.

Would probably take McMillan but slightly concerned he has been unable to pick up a team in at least league 2 recently.

I'd be happy with that. He looked good against us for Airdrie last season, and I've been hoping we might chuck something his way since last summer. Compared to some of our other signings he's practically a marquee name too! On 23/06/2019 at 16:16, ++Ammo - Airdrie++ said: In you're current predicament, I'd agree that Kyle is a "marquee" signing if true. I wouldn't have been displeased to see him stay at Airdrie, he gave his all and didn't hide too often, put himself about and chipped in with a good few goals. He's a nice guy by all accounts and knows the way to the goal I really hope he cracks on and becomes a fan favourite. Wilkie was one of the few players I'd have been happy to keep at Airdrie last season. It's not saying much but he was our best midfielder. I'm sure somebody said we didn't lose a game he scored which is probably a good indicator of how he can influence games. When he played well and we played through him, the team as a whole tended to play well. His best position is probably as a #10 behind the striker(s). That's where his passing is most effective and it limits the amount of running he has to do as well. Probably the biggest mark against him though is that he quite frequently picks up knocks and misses a match or two here and there. He can also fade out of games quite quickly, and badly, so you can't necessarily rely on him to play or be the focal point of your attack every week. Which I assume is why Murray decided to release him. I think he'd be a good signing for most teams in this league though, even notwithstanding the underwhelming squad you've put together so far.
