The aim in Jiu Jitsu is to immobilise your opponent through locks and submissions, not to snap their neck in two. In MMA the aim is to basically kill the other guy before he kills you, so it's allowed.
JamieStevenson
Finally we can get this one out of the way. Edgar should be getting smashed. Then we can move on to Volkanovski towards the end of the year.
The Grass Is Greener.
Ufc 241 shaping up v v v v v nicely.
JamieStevenson
Very sceptical about those UFC 241 fights going ahead as planned. Would be unreal if they did though.
JamieStevenson
Another poor card coming up on Saturday. RDA vs Lee is an okay main event. I was interested in Magny vs Luque but Magny has been done by USADA unfortunately. Big fan of Charles Oliveira & Aspen Ladd but not too interested in their match-ups. The fight to look out for is Danny Roberts vs Michel Pereira. Pereira is making his UFC debut. He's crazy as f**k, pretty ineffective though. Basically a meme and should be totally out of his depth. Should be some laugh.
Christophe
"Ineffective" shouldn't be too much of a handicap against Danny Roberts tbf, not sure what you've seen in him to suggest the boy will be out of his depth! Don't think he'll get much further up the ranks after that though Quite looking forward to seeing Felicia Spencer, but yeah other than that bit of a nothing card with some absolute bums on the main card Edited May 16, 2019 by Christophe
JamieStevenson
You only have to look at the competition. He's a can crusher and a bad one at that. Manages to lose a good few. He's coming into the UFC after knocking out a statue that was only in his 5th fight. If he smartens up and actually takes this seriously he could have some longevity in the company picking up a win here and there. There's definitely some talent in him but he takes liberties against lesser opponents and it doesn't always work out for him. His stupidity is entertaining though and that's what matters on shows like these when they give us nothing to really tune in for.
Christophe
I meant not sure what you’ve seen in Roberts to suggest the boy will be out of his depth against him. Absolutely no great shakes himself.
The Moonster
Just clocked the UFC239 card for the first time there, that's a pretty excellent card.
JamieStevenson
Sage Northcutt just got sparked out on his ONE debut by the very first punch . Edit: Okay replay shows there was actually a 2nd hook in there as Sage was on his way down but holy smokes that was impressive. Pretty tough match making because old Cosmo is a legit fighter with a ton of experience. Edited May 17, 2019 by SJP79

Hopefully Cosmo is sticking to MMA full time as it had been almost 3 years since his last run at it. ONE Championship are excellent entertainment value and stream their shows to us for free on YouTube.

Staying up watching the US UFC shows is a bit of a nightmare since the kids came along lol f**k the UFC ! Shame Yodsanklai lost, seemed to struggle with the height and reach advantage of Sana, plus the knockdown first round he was up against it, felt he nicked the second though but in the end the best guy on the night won. JamieStevenson
Pereira a greetin' mess on his way into the octagon. This'll be interesting.
JamieStevenson
Pereira just knocked Roberts the f**k out. Roberts didn't have a clue how to deal with all that. Dude is far too big for 170.
JamieStevenson
Probably not practical long term but great fun to watch. The flashy shit pretty much never works and it's his crisp straight right that that is his bread and butter. It's a thing of beauty most of the time.
Christophe
Said it all week, Roberts is a fucking bum, this boy will get found out but the chances it was going to be tonight were minimal
