Someone on here was extremely effusive about A Man Called Ove (think it was @Craig fae the Vale but can't find the post) a few pages back.  Great recommendation, really enjoyed it. Not often i find a book laugh out loud funny, and even less often are those actually quality novels.

It almost certainly was me, I love that book. I'd highly recommend everything else Backman has written. He is an outstanding author.

Punk Paradox by Greg Graffin

A really interesting look at Bad Religion and the greater LA punk scene in general. The punk professor is a pretty fascinating man, it's incredible how he wove his academic career seamlessly with his musical one.

How many books do you get through every week?

Stalin : Court Of The Red Tsar by Simon Sebag Montefiore

A lot about the intrigue and paranoia of Stalin and his colleagues.

The purges , forced famine and the imagined treasons , wholesale deportations , whole families just basically swept away when anyone got too popular or on the wrong side of Stalin. He held the power of life and death over anyone or any group in the Soviet union and wasn't afraid to use it.
