What's this about service buttons that just let you in? Surely they all just buzz all the flats in the building or what's the point of a secure entry phone system?

From experience it's a nightmare trying to deliver parcels to a block of flats if they don't have a service button. Some of them have a code that they give to the post office but not to delivery companies. Usually the service button only works for a certain time in the morning which is useless if the parcels you collect for delivery don't arrive till lunchtime.

Aye, service buttons dont ring any flats, they just open the door, provided you use it within the prescribed hours (usually pre 11am or 12 noon or so.)

Outside there, if you can get round the back, it's amazing how many blocks have secure front doors, but the back has no security, or is wedged open.

It gets better.

Most buildings have an access point for firemans keys to get into the building in an emergency.

You can buy said keys on eBay.

Not even expensive

After seeing her daughters porno, I'd still rather shag Liz tbh.

I was in some Uni classes with her daughter, totally oblivious to who her mother was, and always thought she was a right weirdo for getting up at god knows what time to go running. It was only when I saw her running at the World Championship on TV that I may have made a mistake.

ETA: Link.... 👀

I googled but didn't watch the results. However, I do note her boyfriend is called Michael Rimmer. Good taste prevents me making further comment.

Scouse 800m runner.

I haven't seen the videos either, but I can't imagine any good can come from a Scouse-Dundonian couple.

I’d probably be able to work it out if I got in the building, just depends on the flat layouts as there’s 3 to a floor in mine, with one effectively wrapping round so if it was the same in the neighbouring one I wouldn’t be a hundred percent which one backs onto mine. Tad awkward to knock on the door and open with “do you play music at 8am by any chance?”. That being said, it’s probably what I’ll need to do.

I’ve used them before but struggle to sleep with them in. Unfortunately wouldn’t help with the vibration we get as well.

Update. Finally went up this morning as he started at 6.30am yesterday and at 8am again today. As soon as I got up to the floor it was obvious which flat it was as it was booming out the front door because the front door had a big hole in it that you could look into the hallway through. Heard him coughing quite a bit inside which was a bad start, but knocked anyway and got no answer. Knocked again really loudly, still nothing. So he’s either ignoring it or can’t hear it due to the volume. Went back, wrote a note and have stuck it through the door.

Now we wait until tomorrow morning.

Remind me, does it go off during the day?

Yeah occasionally but tbh I don’t really care if he does it during the day, only really the mornings that are annoying.

It's a bit bizarre that it's more prevalent earlier. I think you need to stake it out and get a look at the occupants and associates before deciding whether to leather him.

Alternatively go straight to the anti-social team at the council. He'll never know it was you.

We’ll see how it goes now, but if it keeps going then it’s probably grassing time unfortunately.

My apartment (yup I’m going’murcan) is above my neighbors garage. They obviously never use their front door but go in and out through the garage, which is a remote /powered door.
It’s so f**k-ing invasive and noisy. All day all night.
They also run their dishwasher every night at about 11. The noise won’t stop me sleeping but I can hear it so I’m sure they can hear mine and must know it’s noisy.
I’m a passive soul, but now borderline passive aggressive because of this (and parking issues)
So...
Do I put my dishwasher in at midnight, won’t keep me awake.
Do I do the same with my washing machine and dryer?
Do I just plug a guitar into the amp at 10pm and just play at a low level but loud enough I know they’ll hear me learning a new song so it’ll be the same chords for hours?
