Shandon Par 14,230 Report post Posted July 30, 2013 Is that all you could muster? No wonder the cva offer is so embarrassing. That didn't include all the money fans poured in from when we first hit the skids until the end of the season. The Pars United group set a 500K target - them and those with deep pockets would raise £400K and they wanted the fans to aim for £100K.
Shandon Par 14,230 Report post Posted July 30, 2013 Where did you read that about? I'm sure I read the same - some money we were due from the SFA was diverted to Accies.
Highlandmagyar 435 Report post Posted July 30, 2013 I believe that if circumstances that unfolded last year with Rangers hadn't happened, then sympathy for Dunfermline's plight would be extremely diluted! To a few people it's just a GIRFUY to Rangers fans! Although they deserve everything they get for their sanctomonious attitude. Leaves a bitter taste in the mouth for me, but congratulations nonetheless.

DA Baracus 12,047 Report post Posted July 30, 2013 Is that all you could muster? No wonder the cva offer is so embarrassing. Its okay obviously to have a laugh and s joke according to some of these posts but a lot of people have lost a decent amount of cash due to this cva. You'd think more pars fans would remember that .
Double Jack D 462 Report post Posted July 30, 2013 lesson learned is for clubs that work hard to make ends meet, paying their tax ,cutting staff, cutting wages trying to balance books should follow the Dunfermline model No it's not, don't be so bitter. Today was good news for Rovers as well. We have a history of being unable to "balance the books" and a Scottish League without a Dunfermline in it wouldn't help that. There are not many supporters of clubs in the top two leagues that can claim the "we live within our means" dignity line. A large number have been rescued in one way or another, including us! Scottish Football, as a whole, needs to find solutions to the financial problems a large proportion of it faces. The redistribution of wealth and single league structure is a massive step forward but there is a lot more to do to improve the quality, and therefore investment in the game. -

Have some faith in Magic 166 Report post Posted July 30, 2013 When you add up the contributions from 'normal' fans since the shit really hit the fan the total is nearer the quarter of a million mark.

The redistribution of wealth and single league structure is a massive step forward but there is a lot more to do to improve the quality, and therefore investment in the game. not bitter at all and why is todays news good for us.unless we draw them in the cup or relegated at the end of next season unlikely to have an impact on us yes we have a history of been unable to balance or books but not to the extent of shafting everyone left right and centre by entering admin and no alternaqtive acceptance offer of zero in the £ .,we are or having at least been trying to balance our books.we have cut staff and wages, given up our rights to ownership of our stadium in an attempt to do so.nobody is claiming we live within our means dignity line but at least some are attempting to do something about it.if your comfortable with their situation and how the have done it it says more about you agree regards scottish football as a whole need to find a solution but an equally bigger responsibility is on those running clubs

Paranoid 31 Report post Posted July 30, 2013 A saving grace on that front being it is unlikely to be wanted for supermarket space and the residential market isn't booming like 10 years ago so there demand isn't there. The valid point is as long as our crowds satisfy the budgets set at the start of each & every season then we'll be OK. it's not too hard a concept to grasp. Well they've not had a very good record on that front these last 20 years. Edited July 30, 2013 by kiddy
