Stellaboz
I think he's a solid appointment, has done a good job at Stirling. Some of the other options look outrageous. I've still got PTSD from our Yogi Hughes era but other options like Kenny Miller or McIntyre surely can't be better than him?McIntyre is proven at this level. However, I'm not a fan of "going back " when it comes to managers.

Rob1885
Under our current circumstances I think it would be a massive risk. Think he’s done a decent job with Stirling and they seem to be giving Kelty a run for their money but it’s a big step up to full time management. I’ve met Rusty on several occasions and he’s a great guy who speaks well about football. Under different circumstances, I’d be excited about him getting the job. Bottom of the table without a win though? It would be a significant gamble.IMO, we had our chance in the summer with a clean slate for a Rutkiwicz, Mark Fotheringham, Kenny Miller type appointment. This now needs a manager of experience. I'm sure it's going to be Big Chipper just got a feeling.

I get he’s done a *decent* job at Stirling but has it been any more than that? A consistent mid-table League Two finish for a couple of seasons surely isn’t where the bar is for a manager just now? I don’t know enough about their squad/budget etc to know if they should be doing better or if they’re overachieving. He’s been in charge for three years now so he must be doing something right. I’d agree he’s probably not the right pick but would like to see how he coped at a higher level. TheScarf
Stirling Albion were better than half the teams we’ve played in the league this season.
The Toun Clock
Interview with the Courier this evening. Not ruling us out but says he’s not been asked about the Pars job and states that any approach has to be respectful as he’s an ICT employee.
Cardle is Magic
John Robertson giving DAFC Board a hint so thinly veiled you can see its knickers. If you’re not getting Petrie, get him in the door: Quote Asked whether he would be keen on the Dunfermline post, Robertson said: “It is irrelevant because they have not asked. “I am not going to go out there and say ‘I want this, that and the next thing’. “People know who I am and they know where I am. “But they have to be hugely respectful and do things the right way, that’s all I am saying to it. “I am not touting myself out there. That’s not for me. That’s not the way I am. “I am an employee of Inverness and until anyone tells me differently, they will get everything I have got.” Edited November 5, 2021 by Cardle is Magic
DAFC.
You can forget Petrie. Ain’t happening. The chance to get him was in the summer, not one third down the line whilst we sit at the foot of the table. The Robertson interview is basically a “if you want me, come get me” statement.

I'm a bit uncomfortable with us going to get anyone unless the applicants are truly dreadful, we went to get Grant and that didn't work out well. Robertson may be experienced and able to steady the ship, which is what we need for sure, but beyond that he's not achieved much more than AJ or Crawford managed in their spells here that said by all accounts ICT don't have two bob but I feel this appointment has to show a bit more promise than purely steady the ship imo. I don't envy the task ahead it's a huge one, if Petrie is unavailable.

parsforlife
Whoever comes in first job is to keep us up. Not going to look beyond that as it’s a big enough job itself.

I just wonder if the German euro could lead to a manager agreeing to deliver more than staying up although that has to be the first objective. A win today and over Queens and Hamilton this quarter I feel is a must. 51 minutes ago, smpar said: If Robertson came in and got us any higher than 7th I’d happily let him have a crack at it next season. While I certainly wasn’t one of those people I remember at the time being a bit sceptical about the merits of appointing McGlynn for a second time, mostly for “never go back” reasons. We beat Dumbarton 5-1 in his first game back and all feelings then subsided.

I don’t think any club in this league bar Kilmarnock have ‘bob’ given the fact they’re still operating as a Premiership club (even though their matchay income will be reduced something rotten.) I’d certainly be more troubled about money if I was a Pars fan than a The Caley fan.
