Walking Down The Halbeath Road

If you sack Grant you will have to buy out his contact, no? That is how it normally works, right?

He is on a yearly rolling contract. I’m not going to act like I know employment law, but I would safely assume the board would have to buy out the rest of his contract if they want to relieve him of his duties.

Interesting, thought he was on a two year deal. Still, I imagine he’s on a decent wedge.

Nah, thank f**k he isn’t. That would be a lot worse.

Is there any email online that you can send to get the attention of the chairman? I can see a customer service one but I imagine anything sent to that would largely be ignored. Possibly the old fashioned written letter job then?

Bedsheet outside EEP would be most effective/appropriate I think.

The crazy thing here is that you do have a good squad on paper. The situation IS fixable, but only once you get rid of the cancer managing them.

Worse hiring than Hopkin at Ayr, worst since we hired McIntyre imo. Genuinely hilarious he was even brought in in the first place.

Wouldn't go as far as calling him a cancer but apart from that you have hit the nail on the head

My bad, thought you meant we’d paid compensation to bring him in. Yes, we’ll need to pay compensation for him, but he’s on some sort of rolling contract. No idea of the terms.

I don't know how much of a difference it will make but I'm going to email the chairman tomorrow. If enough of us do that, it should help push this forward.

I was thinking off doing the same thing haha. How the board think this acceptable is beyond me and the rest off us. The clubs in a right mess just now the worst I’ve seen it in 25 years bar the administration.

I just don’t see how Grant will be sacked after 4 games. I’m not saying all the fans are wrong, normally they are always bang on when it comes to this sort of stuff, but I don’t think the board will do anything until the end of the first quarter at the earliest. No matter how badly it’s going.

This is the big concern.  We are out of the title race,  well behind in the play-off hunt and needing a few positive results to get out of the relegation spots.

We leave it another 5 games and we're out the play-off hunt and desperately hoping to put a strong run together to avoid relegation.  Every single game he gets is a game less to save our season.

If he's in charge next week enjoy the easiest 3 points you can ever get.

You say this… I know we have changed manager as well in the summer but Grant had us sussed last year. We didn’t beat Alloa last season. 1 defeat and 2 draws I think it was.

We are flying just now though and after today’s second half performance I would be very disappointed if we don’t get all 3 points. I didn’t think I would be saying that at the start of the season that’s for sure!

Yea, to be honest it’s not fair to cancer to compare it to what Grant has done at Dunfermline so far. I was in the potentially good hiring camp, holy s**t was I wrong! What I can’t understand is how successfully he’s dragged a team, with some pretty good bits, down into the gutter in such a short time. Even strategy doesn’t explain what the hell is wrong, and it makes me wonder if it is even recoverable at this point, which is insane after only four games. The rot in the dressing room must be deep, and I have no idea how anyone coming in would be expected to paper over it, let along fix it, in less than half a season…and that leaves the Pars in very dicey territory.

The board will allow him to manage the games before October starts, however urgent action is needed now. The alarm bells have been in place for months now and if we are relegated as a consequence of their ineptitude, then I won’t be the slightest bit surprised. Very St Mirren 2017 except we’ll not take early action. St Mirren done the right things to get themselves clear of danger and shot right up to where we want to be. We won’t do that though, because reasons.

You need to read the Ayr v Dunfermline thread.

They thought the same and didn't believe we were as bad as us Pars fans made out. Then they witnessed it themselves. You could play no attackers, (I include attacking midfielders in that btw) and you'll still score goals against us.

Come down and enjoy yourselves. Get a bridie and a few pints. Even stick the mortgage on a win. Easiest win you'll get all season.

Are we officially in the banter years?

We’ve been in the banter years since 2013. Falkirk have saved our blushes in that time; they have somehow managed to eclipse our shitiness.

Are you guys confident that a competent manager could get a tune out of your current squad?
Or is it imperative that a new man has at least the remainder of the loan window to work with?

Having access to loans would help. Can we loan Graham out elsewhere or is loaning a loanee not allowed? 🤭
