Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Recommended Posts

Club is a complete shambles atm and there is no way Grant is going anywhere anytime soon, past experiences tells us that the board are spineless when it comes to both appointing and parting ways with managers.

Dom Thomas is an out and out winger. He can’t play any other position really. If it’s true, then it doesn’t surprise me in all honesty. It looked pretty obvious to me in the Arbroath game they weren’t playing for the manager at all; total down tools job.

Dom Thomas and Wighton are arguably our biggest attacking threats and he refuses to play them. The man is an absolute disgrace and the board need to take action pronto, regardless of what happens tomorrow.

Crowds are only going to get worse. Don’t think so many have ever been as disengaged as just now. Even the Potter days I was more into it than now.

Think that was due to the fact we nearly went bust a year before the season started. I can empathise there, though: I definitely had more an interest then than now. This is the result of years of stagnation and bad decisions by the board. It has finally caught up with them, and they’ll really feel the bite when crowds start to dip to about 2k in the coming weeks. Our shitiness this season was the catalyst to finally result in fans walking away from the club in very heavy numbers. Did we not have something like 4.5k season ticket holders in 2018? Maybe plucked that out the Jim Leishman book of facts and figures, but it was quite a high number.

Was comfortably over 3k anyway.

Announce Yogi and Big Chipper.

If he's a free agent he can sign for anyone at anytime I believe.

No he can't. See below. If you are released from a professional contract after a window closes then you can't sign for another club professionally until the next window opens. You could though go abroad to somewhere with a currently open window of course if such a place exists. Or down to Lowland League level where windows don't operate.

He also could still go on domestic loan rather than fully released as long as he does so before the end of September, but not to the Premiership as they aren't allowed the extra month for loans.

Not if they are released after the end of the transfer window.

Otherwise we'd have players released from one club and signed by another shortly after year round, completely destroying the point of transfer windows.

Dom is probably just the first to take a stand and make a move. Got that about him I think.

Have to say good luck to him, its not fair for such a short career to be blighted with the likes of Peter Grant.

A series of damaging events for decades now.

I think that is what you have to try to get into the individual - just do your job well.
People say ‘what would you take on Saturday? A victory and not playing well?’ Yes I would, I wouldn’t tell you a lie, I would take a victory without playing well 100 per cent.
Nobody can hand you a plate of confidence, nobody does that.
Just a few of the latest nuggets of pure football knowledge from our fearless leader, Peter Grant.
I feel emotional and humbled by his expert guidance.

When somebody hits out with the “people always ask me..” you can absolutely guarantee that nobody has ever asked them whatever it is they’re about to answer. He’s more Brent than Grant at this stage.

That would be utter pish if we had to lose a player of Dom Thomas’ quality due to the sheer ineptitude of Peter Grant. On form, Thomas is probably in the top 5 players in the division and you couldn’t blame him for not wanting to play for that utter w**k.

You can picture the shock as Cardle surprises PG by playing out on the left but cutting in and shooting with his right foot. “Who could have predicted that” says Grant.  “It’s because if COVID.”

He's more than capable of that.

"Nobody hands you a plate of confidence" is inspired. I'm going to use it in conversation as it makes me smile and stimulates the imagination. I'm thinking alphabetti spaghetti for tea tonight already.

Definitely the work of a man on a higher plain than others, one who stands aloft from the crowd. Years from now this nugget one-liner will be used in everyday society and PG, the Scottish national team manager, will smile inwardly as the press hang on his next public utterance.

I like Quaich of Cockiness but I wouldn't presume to put words in his mouth. Or on a plate and hand it to him.
