Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Not sure why people are getting sucked into this myth about how owners were impressed by how Peter Grant set up his Alloa side against us. The idea that anyone would appoint a manager based off one game is absurd on the face of it.

It’s not like there was an extensive recruitment process. He was cheap, available and known to the club through our links with Alloa.

Now, that doesn’t mean he can’t be a success at Dunfermline and help us achieve our goals but I’d still say there’s very little evidence to back that up other than blind faith.

Glad to see no one is overreacting

Putting your fingers in your ears and lapping up everything the owner says is soooooo Gavin Masterton.

It's nice that the owners speak reasonably well, however let's be honest here and say they've gotten off to a fairly inauspicious start. St Johnstone were playing Gallatasary last night in a European game, after winning the Cup double last season, having won the Scottish Cup a few seasons ago.

Now they've gotten there for a myriad of reasons, however a fucking massive one is that they appoint good managers, consistently. People thought when they lost Coyle they'd crumble! And since then it's just been one fantastic appointment after another.

Whereas we lurch from one shitter of appointment to another, the one time in the last decade we made an ok appointment we fucked that by keeping him past his sell by date.

So aye, news of a training ground and a club culture is just grand, however that won't count for a fucking thing if we follow the same process off appointing managers that led us to Peter Grant, whatever questions were getting asked were wrong, really, really, wrong.

AJ was a good appointment at the time, but it was clear that 2018 was as far as he was going and we should have parted ways. Just been riot since then and looks like it will continue to be, based on the first 2 league games, where the performances have been, urm, suspect at best.

What we all going for tonight then? I can't see past a 6+ goal thumping after last weeks performance. Stevie G will have his Rangers team out to make a statement and said he'll name a strong squad. I'd love to see a spirited performance from us, even if we were to lose, as long as we didn't just roll over but I can't see it.

Peter Grant must be incredibly arrogant to persevere with this system, despite it looking utter, utter shite against any full time side he's went and deployed it at Ibrox.

Just write the season off until he's gone, he's shown nothing to suggest he's willing to change it when things are going bad.

It really looks like a case of how bad will things get before he’s sacked and how much time will the next guy have to make something out of this mess of a squad.
