Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Recommended Posts

Think we've been on the viagra a bit too much, we've lost to Edinburgh and threw away a 2-0 lead at home in our first game of the season, now Martin is the best LB in the league?

We look good and i'm hopeful we can keep it up and make the playoffs but I think somefolk are in for a bit of a bumpy landing when we crash down to earth in the belly of the season.

If we beat Celtic in the cup i'll be lumping my house on us winning the league and will paper my house with poster of Nisbet mind you.

I’m going to parkhead because it could be a while before we get back into the top league. I also want to see how we do against the top side in Scotland. Another bonus is that half my money goes back to the pars.

I know it’s daft but if, somehow, we hold them to a draw for an hour their fans and the team will start to doubt themselves as it could be the treble over already.  More than likely we will be pumped before half time but it’s football and a one off game.

I'm also thinking of going. I've not actually been to Parkhead since it's been done up (last time I was there it still had old Hampden style terraces behind the goal) and since it's a Saturday game it's better than heading shopping or to the in-laws or whatever else the missus would rather do.

Last time I was at Celtic Park was for St J v Dundee Utd cup final. Not sure the crowd will be quite as big for this one. It could be a good chance for Craw to try a really defensive formation - something we could use now and again in a league game where the only option is to try and shitfest something.

Quite enjoyed the game (7-2 IIRC) against Rangers as it was so end to end and although the scoreline was brutal we at least made it entertaining.

Who’s made that claim?

It’s just fair to give credit to Martin for improving his overall performance so much. As I said earlier, not many players seem to do that after nearly an entire season out injured.

We should stick in Devine for this for a laugh

Had a couple of off moments against Burntisland Shipyard last night. Sink or swim Danny.

He's terrible for giving away slack passes in daft areas. Very slow to react to quick movement too. His best attribute is heading out high balls. It's just not good enough. I'm hoping he's way down the pecking order now. Nothing personal, but i just don't rate the guy.

Stuart Morrison, Lewis Martin, Euan Murray, Lee Ashcroft, Tom Lang and even Tom Beadling should all be ahead of Fanny Devine for a place at CB. They all can't get injured at the one time, surely...

See as far as bold shouts go, I reckon Lewis Martin could genuinely be the best left back in the division.

It’s a bold take on Martin but it’s a bloody good shout. Tremarco has always been a solid player but another year older now and I’m not sure there’s anyone else in with a shout.

I can’t remember another left back since maybe Murphy that I’ve felt so comfortable watching one on one. Wingers must despise him.

The lack off decent left backs in this league helps, if he's not best then he'll certainly be up there.

Tbf you’re probably not far off the mark with that, now that I look at the squad lists. There’s probably a case to be made for Jordan Marshall being slightly better, but LM has a far better game than him on Friday.

He's definitely in my top 10 anyway.

It's a fair shout .  It will be interested to see how Martin's reputation compares to Holt by the end of the season.

I think Lewis Martin is now first pick in a set position for arguably the first time in his career and looks ready kick on. I would like to see us extend his deal.  Lewis McCann too, noticed his deal in up next summer. That where we should be using some of the Celtic money.
