Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Recommended Posts

With the last game of the season being between Dunfermline and Airdrie on 4th May, we could see a world record number of own goals being scored!

Was one of the all-time classic own goals not scored by a Dunfermline defender against the old Airdrie right at the end of a season to knacker up a Dunfermline promotion bid. I'm sure it was a brilliant piece of mis-cue and he absolutely burst the net with an attempted clearance?

The most bizzare thing about the SFL rule book is, that despite a Livvy and Dundee both going into admin while the SFL; there are no rules about sanctions. Odd.

Much of the reasoning for that was argued by Longmuir & Ballantyne when Dundee entered admin (first couple of minutes):

Most sympathy ends here. Cannot abide clubs cheating creditors, players and staff out of debt then sauntering on as if nothing happened.

They should've told the entire squad they were free to leave in January. More concerned with a hilarious promotion gamble than paying money to people who are owed it.

If they're not at the very least relegated out of this it's a complete crime.

Got to say that the prospect of Dunfermline entering administration and thus giving them a chance of fulfilling their fixtures is good news for Falkirk in a sporting sense.

However, like Paco says, Jackson history points to this having a less than savoury ending for creditors and will leave a bad taste in the mouth.

Bryan Jackson is the same guy who was administrator for Dundee and Motherwell was he not?

Happy if he's in charge, he might be able to save this sinking ship.

Don't care how many points we get deducted in all honesty, just want the club to survive and remain in the professional set-up.

You're relying on creditors accepting a CVA if you are to come out of administration. Given who the creditors are this is extremely unlikely. What you need is for someone to buy out the club and provide the creditors with a business plan and then hope they accept 10p or whatever in the pound. Is there any chance of that happening?

I know !! We need tantrums, toys oot prams, names demanded, threats, more tantrums, John Brown ......

Don't worry I've composed a strongly worded email to NASA informing them of the ramifications of a big point deduction. Armageddon!!1!1!

Are you referring to HMRC? I don't think they have a sufficient amount of the debt owed to them to veto, could be wrong though.

Can't defend against Paco's post. Administration is a welcome process from a fan perspective as it maintains the club's survival, but it does leave a nasty taste in the mouth with regards to how we're going to f**k over various creditors. Hopefully our new owners will have a better idea of how to run us within our means. I'd have no issue with relegation as a punishment either.

what if this application for 'voluntary' administration doesnt get accepted? has that ever happened before? HMRC or some similar governing taxation body refusing application to make a point?
