The formation has been nothing short of shambolic Feel for the players as they will bare the brunt of it clearly, feel like the group hasn't been around together long enough to have the strength of the manager hanging them out to dry in the press and with his tactics thus far.

Cardle is Magic
Grant’s latest update on the OS reflects so poorly on him IMO. Still taking absolutely zero blame himself and instead just slaughters the players yet again. The person doing the interviews must bring this up. Is he ignorant or narcissistic? Does he believe he is truly blameless or has the thought not even crossed his mind? He ponders why the players lacked belief in the midst of chucking most of them underneath the tyres of the team bus. It was a gutless performance on Friday night but Grant has to take at least equal blame. We should be winning and losing together, as a team.

He's a Rangers player, he won't give 2 shiny shits about who he's played for on loan before. Just another game for him (if he gets a game)

I think he wants them to play in a certain way and from what he says, they are doing it in training but nowhere near it on the park. Reading between the lines, he's not giving up his style. The players need to change, not him. Not sure if this would mean keeping the shape though, which I think is just awful. A shape where the 3 CBs are three individuals that appear to have no communication or understanding between them. Then a midfield that will be dominated in every single match this season(unless playing league 1&2 teams). Which then makes it completely pointless with three forwards getting no supply and virtually made redundant. Oh then add in the balls up of the goalkeeper position, where OFW looks a better option than the guy he just gave a two year deal. His silver tongue may have got him the job but it's not going to wash with fans anymore. He has to change as well as the players to get a competitive team on the park. I just fear his ego is too big.

Is that the "it's not the formation, it's the players that are the problem"stuff? It will be interesting to see if he sticks with it on Friday. If he does and there's another defensive horror show he's going to look like a right chump.
Cardle is Magic
It’s the belief that his tactics are correct and if they don’t work then it’s because the players messed up. I believe that if losing possession fucks up your entire system then it was probably a stupid system to begin with, especially at such a low standard of football.
CallumPar
How could we reject every applicant for the manager’s job, in favour of this nutter?

Cardle is Magic
It should be illegal for Peter Grant to quote Johan Cruyff. It’s like Raith Raver saying he’s inspired by Dickens.
Dunning1874
If by "people" he means "Peter Grant" then he's spot on tbf.

TheScarf
So using Grant's theory, playing a 1-0-9 and losing 15-0 would be the players fault and not the formation.

No consideration to what he could have done better. Really not helping himself. In any workplace if your gaffer kept criticising your work without supporting your efforts, you'd tell him/her to do one. Players are no different to the common 5 / 8 workers. Ps I heard a wee whisper PG is very weak in the dressing room.
