The Green Mile - 10/10

Never seen it before but had heard it was good so I got it off HMV for £2.99.

I will never spend £2.99 on a better film ever!

The story-line is brilliant, the acting is brilliant, the way you get drawn into the whole plot is brilliant. A really, really good movie.

Jennifer's Body

It takes a borderline genius to get the right balance between horror and comedy.

Unfortunately, Diablo Cody is no Sam Raimi, and this film can't decide whether it wants to be a teen horror or a teen comedy, and instead is a bit of a muddle.

It comes across as if their entire pitch was based around what smutty comments they could get Megan Fox to say, and that's pretty much it.

It's not dreadful, and the aforementioned Ms Fox does indeed look lovely (even when she's not), but it's not brilliant.

I'd give it a 5/10. It would have got a 4/10 but gets a bonus point for using Screeching Weasel's cover of I Can See Clearly Now.

Double Jeopardy ( 1999 )

Ridiculous at times, but mostly enjoyable stuff. Enjoyable enough that you can ignore the obvious plot holes. The most ridiculous part being the prosecution lawyer's "aliens must have done it" stuff at the start. I almost turned it over right at that point, but I'm glad I didn't, mainly because I found myself rooting for this woman to find her husband and kill the vag.

6/10

Oh, I'm going 8/10 on Up and 9/10 on The Searchers as well.

Twilight 6/10

It was different. I came away not sure whether it was good or not. At times I was just thinking "hmmmm this is going a bit slow". But I did like the fact I didn't really know where it was going or what was going to happen next . . . well until the last half hour.

Hopefully the new movie is an improvement from the 'introduction' of a first movie.

i was a bit confused about my opinion of the film myself, then i heard them playing muse in the background...

Paranormal Activity (2007)

I will say this to start with, it was made in 2007 and is just being released now, that should tell you enough.

The reactions of Americans in the trailer to this film is ridiculous, there is not ONE thing that would remotely even make an adult (I'd even go as far as saying secondary school kid) jump.

The ending is just stupid and pointless, it was down to Steven Spielberg's intervention - that says it all!

I can honestly say that this was one of the worst films I have ever seen.

Mrs Doubtfire - just watched it for a bit of banter as there was nothing else on. Seen it plenty of times before but you can't help yourself not to laugh at bits. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but I quite like it. There are a few good one-liners in it that make you lol. A thoroughly enjoyable film.

Just finished watching, 'How to Lose Friends and Influence People', and it was pretty typical of a Simon Pegg movie. He's exactly the same character in every film, a bit like Hugh Grant was in the 90s, although Pegg is admittedly slightly funnier. This time around, he co-starred with his American female equivalent, Kirsten Dunst, who is also the exact same in nearly every film she's in.

I managed to watch it through to the end, and there was a couple of chuckle moments, but overall it was a pretty dull, predictable movie. A bit, meh.

6/10 (and two of those marks are for Megan Fox)

We Own The Night.

Eva Mendes and Joaquin Phoenix, plot line didnt look too great but with some big named actors i thought it was worth a watch. I expected a few more twists and turns in this film but they never appeared. Not a bad film but not a great one either.

7/10, same as a previous poster, couple of extra marks for Eva Mendes. The opening scene involving her is rather interesting.

In Bruges

Really didnt enjoy it. It was far too slow and nothing seemed to happen. I couldnt wait on it finishing.

3/10

Saw IV

First time ive watched it since i went to the cinema and its not a bad watch. Offers a bit of background into Jigsaw and definitely clears a few things up.

Surrogates ( 2009 )

Not a horrible movie, but it doesn't quite get into the realm of being good or even passable. There is just so much bullshit on offer here. Unless you're a fan of watching Bruce Willis do some non-acting while sporting a really pathetic haircut, you're not going to get much out of this. Willis is actually not bad when he's not in his "Surrogate" role. The plot is just a crock of shit which is a shame because there's a good concept there, and it's well carried out at times, but not enough for me to go even to thumbs in the middle. Thumbs leaning slightly down instead.

4/10
