What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Oh yes, now I remember that happening. She was 16 though, and it is a British film, so can't see why there'd be a problem.

Even if it was from a legal standpoint, there's no guarantee she told the truth on her job application... it does happen!

She was only 15 when she got her boobs out, I'm pretty sure.

Bad Biology

I like Frank Henenlotter's nonsense. Basket Case is great, Brain Damage and even Frankenhooker works as well. Low budget, crude, gory, silly stories that are a lot of fun. Basket Case has appeared in the line-up of some recent all-night horror sessions in Glasgow and Edinburgh cinemas and still goes down a storm. But this is total dross. Everything about it is lame. It's really not much more than terrible soft porn, which may be medicinal for Henenlotter's battle with cancer but it's tedious for anyone else.

I'm not sure I'll ever give a rating of zero because, hey, you got the film made. So this gets a

Paradise Lost Documentary about the trial and ridiculous conviction of 3 teenagers of the murder of 3 young children in Memphis in 1993.

These guys were convicted basically for wearing black Metallica T-shirts, and having a passing interest in Wicca. It's incredible to watch some of the courtroom scenes knowing that they were ultimately convicted of this. Some very gruesome scenes at the start including crime scene video, but the most distressing thing for me about this was the injustice served. Can't recommend this highly enough.

Don Mackay :

Would like to give all concerned a big kick in the pus. Utter garbage.

1.5/10 (mainly for Elizabeth Shue)

The "star" played Sandman in the awful Spiderman 3. That is a good enough reason, continue with your pus-kicking.

Skinned Alive (1990)

Film 2000 releases tend to be low budget crap (this one is less than £20k), but there's always the possibility that it'll be inadvertently funny. This was one of those comedy horrors about a family of a crippled mother and her two incestuous children going about and creating business for their "tannery", which happens to be the back of an old clapped-out van.

Some ridiculous deaths, even more ridiculous scripting (including the classic line "Bullshitski you fat, crippled butt-f**k") and even worse acting... but it all goes together to make it quite fun to watch. The good thing about these films is they tend to kept quite short so they don't drag, and this one is only 70 minutes.

The most flagrant theft of a film connection ever... the son asks the mechanic if there is any motels in town, to the response "There was the Bates place, out by the old highway. That closed down years ago."

Harmless, cheap comedy horror. Won't get near a pass, but gets a few points for comedy value alone.

Can't believe people are rating the Hangover part 2 so highly. It's easily one of the worst films of the year and a blantant attempt at just cashing in on the originals success. It just doesn't come close to being funny.

This. Saw it on Friday and it did provide some laughs but they seemed to be focused more on the idiocy of that Alan guy as opposed to the original in which pretty much anything anyone did provoked a humourous reaction.

All right but defintiely not as good as some are making it out to be. I'd probably pick it up on DVD if I saw it for a £5 but I wouldn't be racing out to get it as I did with the first film.

Lucky Number Slevin (2006)

Was just on Film 4. It's the 2nd time I've saw it and it really is a fantastic film.

That is a brilliant film. Bit of a slow burner but once it gets into it it is fantastic, the ending in particular.

Inception

Finally got round to watching this as I had heard only good things, so took a punt on it at £8 in HMV. Must say whilst it wasn't the fantastic "mindfuck" that everyone said it was it was still a very enjoyable film (Fight Club is a better option if you want to mess with your head IMO). Still a great concept that was executed very well, if not perfectly. I think its the type of film that will only improve on the second viewing. The casting was a little bit mismatched (Hardy and Di Caprio next to Juno and the kid from 3rd Rock from the Sun?) but they all played their roles terrifically, especially Tom Hardy who was excellent. Overall I am happy with my purchase, and can't wait to watch it again as I feel there may be things that I missed the first time round.

Sounds like you had made your mind up before you even saw it.

I really liked it. It was slightly predictable in parts, but still had plenty of laughs. Seen quite a few comments here and elsewhere slating it for not being funny, I think people need to lighten up a bit, it was quite obviously never going to live up the first one. I find it hard to believe that anyone sat through it without laughing once, if true, you need a sense of humor transplant.

I saw the Hangover 2 last night, but haven't seen The Hangover.

I thought it was pretty funny as a stand alone movie. Don't know what my opinion would be after seeing the first one.

I'd give it a 7/10

Being John Malkovich (1999)

Nominated for three Oscars, I can understand the director and screen writer, it was well made and a really good idea... but the best wooden supporting actress (Catherine Keener), I think not! How she has TWO Oscar nominations (this and Capote), I'll never know

As I said a really good idea, but it goes on forever and becomes really tedious in the extreme. The addition of Charlie Sheen late in the film served no real purpose at all, however it was balanced out with Orson Bean who has played a few of my favourite one-off characters over the years in Becker, Ally McBeal and Two and a Half Men.

For the concept alone, and not for the delivery. 5/10

Catch Me If You Can (2002)

Would be a brilliant film anyway, but the fact that it is based on a true story just puts it on another level. Having watched this tonight and Inception last night, I must say I forgot how good an actor Leonardo Di Caprio is.
