ffcsam
Two recent films for me WATCHMEN Visually stunning but wtf was going on? Not a great fan of Comic Book adaptations but this was better than some that I have seen. The bird in it is spiffing Overall, 7/10 The Book Of Eli Watched this one today. Not the best film I have watched but still highly enjoyable imo. Gotta love a bit Mila Kunis Mr Washington is a brilliant actor but this is not in his top 5's. Overall, 7/10
Nick_BCFC
The Hole (2001) With a 16 year old Keira Knightly She has her tits out in it doesn't she? I'd not have thought they'd let that happen at 16.
SaltyTON
She has her tits out in it doesn't she? I'd not have thought they'd let that happen at 16. Erm, no she doesn't, and ask Brooke Shields... Freak (1999) The box says "when Blair Witch meets Psycho"... first lie, I can't think of any connection, even a tenuous one that links these two films and this crap! The box says "running time: ~75 minutes"... second lie, it's 84 minutes long. Well we're not off to a good start and that's just from reading the back of the DVD case! We've got a freak that has been kept in the attic by his strange reclusive troll of a mother. He escapes by nailing her with a rock, and ends up in a hospital for nutters. He gets transported to another hospital by a moron who manages to let a chained up retard escape from a van. Needless to say he heads back to the old house, and kills a few people along the way. Meanwhile to pass the time, we get a boring side story of a girl and her strange looking little sister driving across four states to their new life. Their paths collide, and they get taken out for lunch by the freak, followed by a boisterous game of Ludo. That last wee bit may, or may not, have happened. Oh, and the freak who has been in hospital since he was about 9 can drive a pick up truck. Of course. Really not good at all! 2/10
SaltyTON
Days of Darkness (2007) This may be the strangest zombie film ever... An odd group of strangers are trapped in a microwave bunker on top of hill, surrounded by a fence, surrounded by zombies. We've got a porn star and her daughter, an action movie star, a nurse and his girlfriend, a gay guy, a religious nut-job and his brother who is now a zombie enchained in the basement and the obligatory strong black man. Think we've got about as many clichés as we can into that lot... The zombies appeared after a comet hit the Earth, but you don't become a zombie if you get bitten for some reason (which is explained later in the film). I don't want to give away why this happens, or how to stop it... it's actually worth watching to see if you can guess, as there's no way in hell you'll expect anything that happens in this film! The star of the film did the voice for "Pedestrian" in the game Red Dead Redemption, a short three years after this fine film. Glad to see it took him places, which is quite unfortunate as he isn't too bad an actor, tbh! The reasoning and the explanation was interesting enough and it was a good deviation from the norm so I'll give it a passable mark. 5/10 Sadly to say, P'n'B regular "Ric" didn't make it.

SaltyTON
I'm sure she flashed them at Jeff when they first went down into the hole Oh yes, now I remember that happening. She was 16 though, and it is a British film, so can't see why there'd be a problem. Even if it was from a legal standpoint, there's no guarantee she told the truth on her job application... it does happen!
SaltyTON
Walking the Dead (2010) Canadian horror set in a Chinese village (partly Beijing, partly Toronto) about a walker set bent on killing anyone who comes into his village, after he wasn't allowed to use his abilities to bring his wife back to life. A reporter from North America receives a letter from a little girls uncle saying that he has buried her alive to save her from the walker, so travels to the village to try and et himself a story. Can he help save the little girl before she suffocates, or will he become another victim of the Walker? 7/10 Edited May 22, 2011 by SaltyTON
Smurph
The Bucket List (2007) I really enjoyed this, and I cried towards the end. I never cry. Afterwards I went out and strangled a few kittens to regain some masculinity and cunto points. 8/10
Sooky
The Wave (2008) - 7/10 It certainly wasn't quite what I was expecting but it was quite good. It's on BBC iPlayer for anyone interested. It's in Deutsch(yes I'm that cool that I said the word "German" in German) but it has English subtitles if you aren't fluent in the language like I am.

Could have just gone for a pint in the Louden Tavern and saved the kittens... but your dignity would have been lost forever! SamirNasri
Seen a few over the last couple of days - The Prestige One of the best films I've seen in the past few years. Great storytelling and a brilliant ending. 10/10 In The Loop Peter Capaldi's performance makes this film. Some of the insults are pure genius 9/10 Due Date Didn't really live up to the heights of The Hangover from Todd Phillips but was still a decent watch. 7/10
SaltyTON
Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI (1986) This series is quite strange as the first two were good, then 3 was shit, followed by the even worse "Final Chapter"... then "A New Beginning" was back to being good again before they realised it was time to do what every horror series does eventually, and go down the comedy horror route. It does the comedy well, and the Bond spoof in the opening credits is genius! 7/10
LAGer
Orphan Noticed it on Channel 4 on Sunday night and thought I'd give it a go, wasn't even sure what it was about at first. It isn't particularly scary, but it doesn't really need to be. The part of young Esther is superbly acted I think. The ending is a bit strange but its different, and it builds up to the climax quite well. Don't think its quite at 8/10 standard so I'll go just short of that 7.5/10
Smit
The wind that shakes the Barley Sky plussed this a couple weeks back and watched for the first time last night. Its set in Ireland and gives a real close to the bone feel of the wars of the early 20th century between the IRA and the British army. ITs a quite stunning, sad, epic and brilliant movie. One which made me even less proud of the british army. Must watch 10/10.
Sammysbackcomb
Kick Ass Like every graphic novel adaptation except "The Crow", the narrative was compelling but the action scenes became monotonous. It was funny and well acted but like I say, shooting and slicing can become dull after a short while. 6/10 The Hurt Locker Absolutely enthralling, tense and terrifying. The World of the bomb disposal expert is depicted in War Torn Iraq. Great acting and an incisive brilliantly crafted story. One of the best War films I've seen since The Deer Hunter. 9/10

The way that the film depicted Ireland tearing itself apart once that violence had been used in the struggle. It proved a saluatory lesson that friends and allies become enemies and murder each other. The film didn't implicity or explicity state that "Divide and Conquer" wasn't the Government policy though.

I agree it's not the type of film I'd watch again, would be quite boring second time round. Still give it my original rating though because it was my first viewing and I enjoyed it.
