What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

American Gangster

I thought this was excellent. Easily goes into my top 5 films from last year and challenges Control for the top spot. I thought it was clearly better than No Country For Old Men. I was pretty enthralled throughout despite the fact that i needed a pee for 2 hours.

9/10

Final Destination 3

Whoever directs and writes these movies have the easiest jobs ever. The formula of the movies are so solid that you can't screw it up, and this one is another fun one. Brutal ( at times absolutely hilarious ) deaths and some decent build up and not much in between, but lets face it, do you need more with these movies ?

The Italian Job (1969)

7/10

Decent wee film, but not the masterpiece I was expecting, and having seen that average on IMDb was 7.4 I'm glad I'm not the only person that thinks that way.

Caine, Hill and Coward do decent jobs in their respective roles, and the cameo from the old guy out of Dad's Army was quite funny. :)

Guest Professor Chaos

I thought FD2 was the best of the lot myself, 3 wasn't up to much really. Apparently the fourth's gonna be in 3D though.

Anyhoo, last film I saw was Casino. Decent, but no Goodfellas [7/10]

NO! You will reconsider and then give it at least a 9.

No Country for old men 8/10

Big fan of the Cohen brothers and like most of the films they've done, bar the remake of The Lady Killers. As someone else mentions above not quite blown away as expected, but none the less a very good film. Tommy Lee Jones is good as usual, but Javier Bardmen is just fantastic. Worth watching for his performance alone.

The Bucket List 7/10

Comedy with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. If it wasn't for these two it's probably not something I would have watched as the story line is a little depressing. Two older gents are diagnosed with terminal cancer and decide to do the things in they've always wanted before the kick the bucket. Works well as a comedy, Nicholson is brilliant. This film, although full of clichés also has it's touching moments.

Hitman 8/10

For anyone familiar with the games the film is pretty spot on. Action packed, over the top but exactly what it sets out to be. Basically just a more adult orientated Bond movie.

I'm Not There; the Bob Dylan biopic. It's not really everyone's cup of tea, but I think it's better than No Country... and should have been included in the Oscars nomination. 9/10

Yeah I'm looking forward to this as it's another one stored away on my PC waiting to be watched. I'll be interested to see Christian Bales performance in it.

I need to get more of these old box sets, Hammer Horror next.

Saw Hammer Horror box sets in HMV, Sauchiehall Street yesterday, and I'm sure it said they were down from £149.99 to £49.99. That original price seemed extortionate to me, but I'm no expert on these things, so that could well be what it said. If that's right, that's a hell of a saving there.

Two movies tonight....

Dial M For Murder and Monkey Business.

First time I have seen them since they came out at the pictures. I paid to get in with jam jars.

I need to get more of these old box sets, Hammer Horror next.

Got the 14 disk Hitchcock set for my birthday, was reduced to £19.99. All of his best work bar Strangers on a Train and North by Northwest.

edit...£19.99 in HMV Braehead.

I'll buy a box set, but I have a £30 limit. Anything over that, I know it will come down in price eventually.

I have got an Amazon page open at the moment with six Marx Brothers movies for £16.97. My wallet is downstairs and I can't be arsed going for it.

Got the two you mentioned as well as 4 others, including Dial M For Murder obviously, at Christmas.

I wants The Birds and Pyscho off the top of my head. Hitchcock films are fantastic. Don't think the younger folk on here would enjoy them though.
