Watched the following films recently:-

Wicker Man (new one) - They watered down the whole sexual theme of the original, which made a lot of it not make any sense. was better than i originally thought it was going to be. I loved the fact they integrated Edward Woodward into the film the way they did :) 5/10

The Guardian - New Kevin Costner film with Ashton Kutcher. Coastguard theme, with the typical young stud gets trained by hero, goes through life changing moments with the Hero and in the end the end happened. Enjoyable enough film however. 6/10

Babel - Heard a lot of good things about it, equating it to Crash but was left dissapointed. It never had the storylines that Crash did, and im not a Brad Pitt fan. I also thought it jumped around storylines too quickly, and it was all disjointed time-wise (one storyline was way ahead of others etc). Should have been far far better. 4/10

The Wild - Typical Disney film, that has meshed storylines from other disney films together. 5/10.

FlyBoys - WW1 film about Americans who came to fight with the French air force before the Americans joined the war. Acting was ok in it, some of the fight scenes were pretty good, but not the best. 6/10

Dark city 4/10

one for the sci-fi geeks, not me. Fans of the matrix and such like would probably like dark city, I didn't i thought it was kack and I'll be telling that to the workmate who loaned me it when I go back on wednesday.

I watched a great film called Talk Radio on ITV2 last night. A tremendous thriller about a loudmouthed, Jewish radio phone-in host who incurs the wrath of local neo-nazis.

Some fantastic scenes in this film, given the fact I'd never heard of it I was shocked by how good it was.

A totally unexpected 8/10

I've watched a few, I'll be short and sweet:

Casino Royale 7/10 - Encouraging, good to see another take on Bond (especially an inexperienced and reckless one), wasn't too convinced about the depth of the relationship. It did have some great set pieces though.

Scary Movie 3 2/10 - Just plainly not funny. Not good for a comedy.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back 5/10 - Not as much of a mess as Dogma, 2 extra marks for Ali Larter and the Buffy burd in latex.

The Astronaut's Wife - ??? Fell alseep, is there any other more definitive critique than that?

Ferris Bueller's Day Off 8/10 - What can I say? Tremendous. It's got the laughs, the music, the human storyline, Oh Yeah by Yello  and Ed Rooney ;)

"Oh, he's very popular Ed. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids, dweebies, dickheads - they all adore him. They think he's a righteous dude."

One of my favourite films, I bought it not that long ago. Surely it's worth more than a 7 though

I think it only got a 7 because it is losing it's impact on mr Mcqueen  or as you say, it surely deserves more than a 7 :o
