stanton
The Birds . Some of the effects might look a little dated but it's still a fabulous movie. Another Hitchcock classic 8/10
Blootoon87
Circle (2015). Just finished watching this on Netflix. An interesting idea about morality, who deserves to live and die, whether you'd sacrifice yourself so others can live. Could've been great, wasn't. 6/10.
19QOS19
Just finished it. Many, many laughs were had. Lots of Americans shown to horrendous scum. It shouldn't be surprising, but if often is when you see how brazen and dreadful they are on camera. Anti-semitic cakes, nazi salutes, ludicrous moron conspiracy theories, sexual offenders and other appalling scum all show themselves. The UPS man and the babysitter came out looking like good and incredibly patient people.Agree with all apart from the UPS guy (assuming we're talking about the one with the daughter). I was gobsmacked he helped put her back in. For that reason he belongs with the other nutcases in the film. Thought it was quite funny in parts and as mentioned elsewhere, his daughter steals the show. 6.5/10.

Silverton End
13 Hours : The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016) After Gaddaffi had been deposed Libya became one of the most dangerous places, split into various factions, turf wars, insurgents. The US still had an Ambassador in Benghazi & a CIA station in the City, about half a dozen ex-Special Forces guys are the security team, tasked with general protection. Things go tits up on the anniversary of 9/11 when groups of Al-Sharia Extremists decide to storm both US compounds. The movie tells the tale, over 13 hours, as the small security team try to defend both themselves & the Ambassador. Decent enough film, based on the book written about the actual events. 7.5/10
TheScarf
Watched Borat 2 last night. Wasn't as good as the first one but still had a couple of funny moments. Fair play to Guilliani tbh, I thought he was great. The lassie who played Borat's daughter is going to be up for the best supporting actress Oscar by all accounts.

Comrie
Babysitter's Vampire was a piss take of Twilight, was actually not bad. Tomb of Dracula was a bonkers anime with Dracula fighting Satan and his son who was resurrected by God, Sharkproof was an unfunny comedy, Absentia a let down, didn't know what it wanted to be and Encino Woman was a sequel I'd never heard of and wasn't as bad as expected.

accies1874
Pixie (2020) Pretty frustrating but still entertaining. There's a really fun script in there, even if some characters can grate and some scenes can seem redundant, but the lacklustre editing and several weak performances drag it down. I'm not sure if a Quentin O'Tarantino joke has been made about it (I hope not as it's bad patter) but I'm going to make it anyway. A lot of it's clearly inspired by him, including the music, dialogue, some cuts, the title sequence and font being almost identical to Jackie Brown's (I'm sure someone will storm in to say that Jackie Brown's is a rip-off too) and even Mark Kermode's complaint of Tarantino that so many characters sound very similar to one another.

Wasn’t great overall, but Baldwins accent was hideous.
stanton
Vertigo - Considered to be in the top 3 of Hitchcock's films and it's easy to see why , James Stewart is superb as an ex cop who's haunted by his past and ends up being drawn into web of intrigue and deceit when an old friend asks him to follow his wife . Definitely should be considered a classic , highly recommended for anyone who's a fan of Stewart or Hitchcock. 9/10

JustOneCornetto
Brain On Fire (2016) Based on a true story about a young newspaper reporter in New York whose life and career start to spiral downwards due to a mystifying illness. Chloe Grace Moretz who plays Susannah gives a very convincing and harrowing performance. Good supporting cast also as we see her being diagnosed by a number of doctors before the truth behind her apparent mental illness is finally discovered. 8/10

mizfit
Borat 2 Scripted shite. About as realistic as Marvel movies.I struggled with it. I did laugh a few times but it did feel very largely scripted this time.
