Savage Henry
I like tattoos, when they're done well. The problem is that about 90% of tattoos you see on folk are crap designs executed badly. Never understood why people go to El Cheapo tattoo "artist"----you're getting something that'll be with you for life, surely you want a good job done? But at the same time, Kat Von D charges $700 an hour, seemingly, for pretty mediocre stuff that most competent artists could do for a third of the price. I get your point, but most people get tattoos fairly mindlessly, and will just go to their local neighbourhood studio. Folk who regard tattoos as art will take an attitude similar to yours and look around, looking at portfolios and so forth.

CLANCY2KTID
<p> A couple of tips: Don't go in with a hangover. Have something to eat beforehand. Take ibuprofen. Put ibuleve gel on the intended area of the tattoo. Sounds close to my routine but swap brufen (I'm allergic) for tramadol and ibuleve for some American gel I got off eBay.
11thHour
I've never took any painkillers or anything like that for any of my tats. Never actually thought of it! Just stuck through it. Could've used them when getting my ribs done. Should've probably have eaten something before starting too, almost whitey'd in the middle of Tesco after it.
CowdenbeathLoyal
I don't mind the pain if i'm looking at it whilst its being tattooed, if i look away i feel the pain more.
CowdenbeathLoyal
It was fine until the last hour, although that was a 'free' hour as he wanted it finished. At that point it became unbearable, he can shove his 'free' hours from now on. Lmao aye the last hours are the worst, towards the end of mine i wished my arm would just fall off.

Enigma
Never even been half tempted to get one, just not my thing. I think most of them look fucking terrible and there's literally nothing I can think of that I'd want plastered on my body. CLANCY2KTID
Was in getting more of my sleeve done today, chuffed to bits with how it's coming on, I honestly can't recommend Hepcat Tattoos enough. They've 4 different artist's and all of them seem to be of a very high standard. Think once this sleeve is finished I'll be starting the other arm, it becomes addictive. Tommy Nooka
I’m far too aware of how bad my clothes/hair/fashion was in old photos to ever think getting something permanently is a good idea. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone look at a picture from the early nineties and say you know I really wish I still had those Benzini flares/Shell suit/Perm/horribly baggy football strip Tattoos are exactly the same, there are tattoos that are fashionable for a time, we’ve already had fads for anchors, snakes on knives, Celtic designs, maori designs, foreign writing etc. I could never bring myself to make that kind of decision due to the permanence, my opinions on just about everything have either changed completely or evolved quite a bit since my 18th birthday. Although in saying that my Dad, who has spent most of his life trying to gently discourage his kids from getting tattoos, is 68 and now has 3 tattoos of the names and birthdays of his grandchildren…..probably just a bit of forward thinking before the inevitable senility. Bigmouth Strikes Again
I remember seeing a guy in a pub years ago with 'Scotland FC' tattooed on his neck.
Hearts Daft
Kat Von D is $700 an hour holy shit. People actually pay that for Kat Von D tattoos? She is utterly average and does very little outwith portraits. What a fucking rip-off artist.
