Email from Ardgowan Distillery today, must have missed this article when it came out.

https://www.ardgowandistillery.com/en/news/2021/12/22/ardgowan-distillery-unveils-landmark-building-plans

Finally starting construction on the distillery itself this year. Will be good to have one in Inverclyde.

Can't say I've tried it, however The Lagavulin 8yr is on at £38 in Tesco today.

It's quite good if you like peat, but I think no sherry casks (or fewer) in this one anyway so last I tried it was much more peppery than the 16 and nowhere near as rich. It's stronger as well. A robust half.

It's also near £20 cheaper than usual retail at that price so if you like Lagavulin or want to try it get in about it.

I think its one of these bottles that starts slow but ends on a high. Cannot be judged by the neck pour for sure.

The more Ardnamurchan I try, the more excited I get by them.

Nearly through a bottle of 07.21:05 (belive this means July 2021, release 5).

The QR code on the bottle tells you a lot about Fermentation, cut points, cask make up etc. Really detailed.

Its calmed down now with the flippers and bottles are still freely available. Highly recommended folks.

The tasting notes on the whisky exchange are absolutely bang on.

One of my favourites but a bit peaty for some.

Aye, it probably is.
