Bairnardo
My kids have done my tits in today so I am just going to steam right in here and bludgeon you all to death with a Glendronach 21.

Partly why I decided to add Lidl's £18.99 Jura offer when I swung past last night. Had a 12yo Royal Brackla last night to wash down a 12yo Mortlach though. The Jura can wait for the visit of friends... some distant day in the future.

I view it more of a reservoir than a collection , but yes it brings a small crumb of comfort

Honest_Man#1
Glendronach 18 cracked open. I fear this isolation could turn me into a whisky fiend, the days all blend together so doesn’t feel like midweek.

If nothing else it's a reminder that holding on to loads of nice whisky for special occasions is one thing, but just enjoying them in the time you have is another. I try not to keep anything unopened for too long so I don't feel too guilty about having a nip when the mood takes me. Plus that is excellent whisky. Deserves to be let out the bottle. GiGi
Birth year bottle tonight. Not too dark for 26 years in a sherry butt so would guess this cask was towards the end of its uses but just makes it a bit more subtle which is still marvellous.
CountyFan
How was it Gigi? So far tonight glengoyne 12 followed by glengoyne 15. Now a pause for a munch and then more whisky after. Happy international whisky day everyone.

HI HAT
Woke up this morning to find that nearly half my bottle of Dalmore port wood finish had disappeared, think the Lagavulin will be opened tonight just to contrast the sherry and the pear flavours.

Robin.Hood
That’s great for people who have enough money to do that - I don’t.But you have enough money to have something to sit about that potentially might not be a huge investment in the future?I dont drink whiskey so cant comment regarding drinking it but think a wee fib you couldnt afford to pay for two.You choose not to. A slight difference
