Michael W
Has it not dawned on Rangers that Division 3 is full of part-time teams? They don't actually need to be signing players like Shiels and paying them £7k per week. Frankly, that's the sort of behaviour that will land them back in financial bother.
Itwiznaeme
Goian no goin now. Dorin Goian happy to remain at Rangers after returning to Ibrox Maybe what Dorin Goian really means is, no other club has offered to pay him more than the monthly wage that his current club are paying him. And he is not stupid enough to take a drop in pay at the age of 31 in order to move to another club. But then again, i may be overestimating his intelligence!: http://www.eveningti...o-stay.18148810"I am led to believe it's 95% certain they will go into the First Division." Jim Leighton
Dean Shiels signs on a 4 year deal. Rangers clinch signing of Dean Shiels No shortage of mercenaries out there. Hopefully it won't take The Rangers 140 years to go the way of their disgraced ancestors.

Booker_d
Didn't Craigy Craigy Whyte do this when he took over at Rangers? Put players on unusually large wages? But his plan was scuppered due to the astronomical tax bill which took HMRC over the 75% mark? Is this Chuckie Greens way of covering his back at the end of the season? Incase he has to turn round and blame the authorities 'bigoted agenda' for not letting them jump 2 divisions? Sevco become the major creditors at liquidation mark 2?
ribzanelli
How would two teams get any new proposals through 11 - 1? .. you haven't really thought that through have you. As the guy said, the voting structure no longer matters a bollix as long as the SPL teams all agree. The current voting structure also protects the smaller clubs from being ganged up on. As it stands 7 or 8 clubs could not collude and force changes through which would be detrimental to the remainder. Uh, as it stood last year, everything was skewed in favour of the gruesome twosome, and the diddy ten couldn't do anything about as Rangers/Celtic could veto it...... With a diddy 11 now, changes can be made without Celtics vote, but if they don't change the 11-1 structure now then we'll be back to the bad old days presuming that a) Sevco make it back to the SPL eventually and b) they fall straight back in to bed with their business partners across the city with neither of these seeming unlikely. I'm quite sure I thought it through just fine.
Drooper
Looks like the Sevco Works XI are loading up on 'name' signings on long deals with two reasons in mind - One, getting them in place now, preparing for the transfer embargo further down the line. Two, TCFKAR fans simply wouldn't stand for seeing anything less than 'name' players in their jerseys. Just hope Chuck can pay for em'. It says more about the mercenary arseholes who have agreed to sign for them than anything else, though. FFS, you really get the measure of a footballer when he is prepared to dirty himself by association with this reprehensible shower of shit (given that they are insisting that they retain their history, they'll be getting no clean slate from me), and drop to the bottom league on the basis of a few more sheckels.

kev23
so effectively dean shiels wage for 1 week is probably more than another 3rd division teams combined wages for 3 months. Shambles. Hope they are fecked by christmas. Lessons not learnt
Baxter Parp
I have to laugh at Sevco fans who think that this is in some way an insult. As if contempt for sporting integrity is a good thing, yes. Laughable really.
speckled tangerine
An absolutely ludicrous business plan by any stretch of the imagination. Could be paper talk, but even if they're shelling out ten grand a week for Black and Shiels it's toally unsubstainable. How much are Ally, Durrant, McDowall and the wee orange kit man on? I'm no financial whizz but income is nowhere near expenditure. Are Duff & Phelps still on the scene? Who's paying them their Million quid a month?
cimex
£7k a week for shiels £364K a year - be hard to turn down. Pity that they'll run out of cash before christmas.

Shambles. Hope they are fecked by christmas. Lessons not learnt It simply beggars belief !! Perhaps its an indication of how little confidence Green has in McCoist ? When can Sevco next buy players .... Christmas next year ? Probably half way through a Second Division season ? Is this the result of Green thinking the leagues will be restructured ? It's just utterly bonkers !! Edited July 31, 2012 by Ned Nederlander
