Big Rangers Administration/Liquidation Thread - All chat here!

Recommended Posts

Surely someone has asked before but I cannot be bothered searching.

Is this going to be the new order of things for Newco SPL teams?

Are any other SPL teams seeing this and thinking its worth the hit for a year and maybe a wee adventure before returning to the SPL debt free?

Hibs had massive crowds in the 1st and it never did Dundee Utd any harm either.

The authorities here are not doing enough to put off chairmen from considering pulling a fast 1, a lot like the pathetic 10 point penalty for administration we had.

Any chairman voting this ridiculous Newco in the 1st division scenario (FFC included) will be seen as a greedy b*****d who puts cash before integrity.

The SFL have so much leverage here it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to effectively blackmail the SPL no matter what league they throw Rangers in.

I thought Celtic fans had been boycotting the us for years?? Something to do with having the cheek to charge them the same amount that they charge us ( unless it involves them winning something, then all boycotts are off)

Just seen Naismith and Whittaker on SSN.

Basically they were saying that they have had virtually no communication apart from 1 email over this whole debacle, since the CVA was rejected, possibly before.

Whatever else happens, you would think that Green and McMoist would want to keep the players updated and ONSIDE. Quite obviously Green has no man management skills in order to do this. Some may have been persuaded to transfer across with a view to get some transfer money rather than none at all.

The incompetence beggars belief.....not that I am overly concerned :P

Genuinely hope the cameras are up at Murray Park for the start of training this week. The way things are going it may well consist of Lee McCulloch and Fat sally chucking down the tracksuit tops for goals and having a game of Long Bangers!! Sweet.

Here's hoping the only thing to turn up,other than fat Sally, will be tumbleweed

Interesting link on scotslawthoughts about Green and McCoist's views on players leaving / being in breach of contract...

That's a superb article. It needs to be condensed and put in the papers. McCoist shouldn't be able to get away with this kind of dissembling. Everything he's said is legally and morally wrong.

RM going ballistic with statements made by Naismith and Whittaker.

Basically saying its a new club no history and they don't have any loyalty towards the Newco.

The funny thing is, they're right.

Total fantasy, SKY cannot dictate how the rules will be applied.

Sky have a massive influence on the game, that's why those muppets in the corridors of power are falling over themselves attempting to ensure Rangers pt 2 are in the SPL within a season.

It's already written into the current Sky contract that they are guaranteed 4 OF games a season or the can renegotiate or pull the plug.

Sky have already stated that they could survive without 'Rangers' for 1 season but no more.

Has this actually been proven (the 4 OF games)? And have sky actually stated this? Last I heard was "we're a media company, we don't get involved", and them saying they had no intention of walking away from Scottish footbal? So do you have actual proof of the above?

Edited to add, this appears to be what they are saying:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2160798/Rangers-crisis-Sky-wont-pull-plug-TV-deal.html

Sky has never, ever discussed pulling out of covering Scottish football,’ he said. 'We have not discussed that possibility, either with the SPL or any other footballing authority. Nor has that been on the agenda for consideration within Sky, despite all the problems and difficulties being faced by Scottish football at present. 'If Rangers are not in the SPL, that would change things for us, naturally. It would leave a quality hole in Scotland’s top division. Competition would deteriorate and, in that event, we would have to renegotiate.

‘But let us be very clear — we have always tried to be supportive of Scottish football and have never made any negative noises or sent any negative messages.

‘Scottish football is still very much in our plans for the future. Walking away has never been on our agenda.’

If you have anything better though, by all means, share it.

You sure about that?
