I realise that for most this is just another comedy snippet from Haudit and Daudit, but I actually think that they're now seeing how ridiculous they can get before some regulatory body steps in and discovers that they are actually a couple of painter and decorators from Possil.

In the next few days I expect headlines along the lines of:

Oil Struck Under Centre Circle at Ibrox

Ibrox Made of Gold, D&P Discover

Murrays Plan for Orbiting Super Casino Still Viable, say D&P

It's breaking my fucking heart

In the Record today (so its to be taken with a sizeable pinch of salt) it seems I'd suspended they would retain their membership in the SPL but teams who are due to play against them would automatically be awarded 3 points. it says this would cause problems as it would be unfair to teams who have to play them after their suspension ends, seem only to be talking about a small term of suspension, but everyone else seems to hope for minimum of 1 year. - which using the above would mean RFC automatically relegated to 1st next year as they'd be finishing on nil points.

Edit:B.Dog beat me to it, and put it simpler too!

a

Wouldn't be surprised if any suspension was until the completion of the first round of SPL games.

This would mean each team in the SPL getting one 3-0 victory and would present financial problems for RFC. No Southampton tournament or money making pre-season friendlies, loss of sponsorship/corporate income and reduction in season ticket income (due to reduction in games).

Not the outcome I would wish for though........

Rangers' administrators Duff & Phelps claim they have enough money to cover the players' return to full wages.

The club's Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA), issued on Tuesday, estimated a summer shortfall of £3m as creditors assess the proposal.

"The funding is in place for the club to operate normally until the sale is complete, which should be in July," said a Duff & Phelps spokesman.

Someone needs to explain how Haudit and Daudit can make the above statements when they should surely be using any funds they hold to add to the CVA pot.

Fair point. I find this assertion: "But the administrators say the cash is there, with the costs expected to be met by Green's Sevco company through either transfer fees or season ticket revenue" mind-boggling. Okay, it's not a direct quote but D+P but you'd think they'd be shouting from the rooftops if Green had actually handed over cash serious enough to fund six weeks of trading. So if the BBC is accurate on this claim they either need to gain a few million in transfer fees this month or start selling season tickets to an entity which is not yet guaranteed to exist in two months - hmm....

The lines about funding the wages through transfer fees and season ticket sales is just astounding.

Their reason is that by selling the club to Green they would generate more cash for the creditors as oppossed to any other means.

 I know...........

@Martin1Williams: #Rangers Lord Glennie overturned #SFA's signings embargo, without any ref to Article 95 which allows the judicial panel to set any sanction.

A herald reporter.

So did that judge bottle it from saying the alternative is expulsion??

Rangers stand to be punished in a number of ways.

By the SFA to replace the punishment that was overturned. That must be harsher than the original punishment or there is no incentive for errant clubs to stay out of the CoS in the future.

By the SFA for going to the Courts in the first place. Rangers have by being a member of the SFA agreed to abide by the rules which precludes such an action. Again this should be a sanction/sanctions which effectively punishes Rangers while deterring others from going to the CoS.

Expulsion from the SFA is the only appropriate punishment to achieve all of that.

By the SPL if it is proven that they broke the rules surrounding pay and contracts. Stripping of all titles won over the period would be appropriate.

It is possible that FIFA/UEFA could step in to punish Rangers for breaching their rules. 10 year ban from European competition?

As for Rangers suggesting their own punishment, that is just ridiculous.

An admission of guilt followed by an acceptance of punishment would stand the club in far better stead than the arrogance of those who say that they should not be punished for the good of the game in Scotland.

Why haven't HMRC or Ticketus already contacted the administrators to say "by the way chaps, no need for us to hold that meeting. We find your CVA 'offer' about as acceptable as Davie Dodds in high definition"

Is it normal for creditors to wait until the deadline or can they just hunt them straight away? My patience, like my hair, wears thin.

Better to make them wait the whole 14 days. HMRC and Ticketus have all the time in the world, Rangers don't.

Indeed. And if either are feeling particularly vindictive, I believe they could vote yes at the meeting and then scupper them on July 11.

Hope the SFA tell them to FO!! After bringing the game into disrepute by taking them to court they now want to cut a deal with the SFA amounting to a Scottish Cup ban and a 6 month transfer embargo. You couldnt make it up!

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/2012/06/02/rangers-in-crisis-ibrox-club-set-to-cut-deal-with-sfa-to-stop-scottish-football-from-sliding-into-abyss-86908-23882820/

So Rangers now feel that a transfer embargo is acceptable? I hope that the SFA get them to put that in writing then hit them with the original 12 month embargo.

They will accept a 6 month embargo because there's no way they can sign players whilst in administration anyway so a 6 month embargo will make no difference.

After imposing the original embargo again after Rangers graciously accepting that it is within the SFA remit to do so then the disrepute for going to ordinary court charge should be met with a 12 month suspension from football.

ETA looks from reading between the lines in that article that Rangers are now sh!itting it and pulling out all the stops to save themselves. A big change from the attitude previously. As I posted before, like a schoolboy going up to the headmaster to beg for leniency after punting in the staffroom windows.
