sjc
He did say tonight having John Greig back at Ibrox tonight is like a "new beginning" for the club. Chick Young really needs to stop letting his arsehole do his talking.

kiddy
I assume CG's limited company is being used as a tax efficient way to pay himself rather than an actual business. He's still a fud though. So, in an oldco style, could he be taking a loan of himself?

Thistle_do_nicely
So, in an oldco style, could he be taking a loan of himself? My knowledge of it is a bit limited - but if you pay yourself in dividends as a higher rate taxpayer, you end up paying less in tax than you would if you took the same amount as a salary. So if you pay yourself up to the threshold for income tax (£10k ish, although I think it might be higher now) and then take dividends, since they have a 1/9th tax credit, you can end up earning about £42k per year virtually tax free. edit: found a link that explains it a lot better, its a little out of date but I think its broadly the same; http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/article-2095909/How-pay-21-tax-100-000-income-child-benefit--IR35-rules-explained.html Edited March 10, 2015 by Thistle_do_nicely
nsr
Disappointing that the triumphalist Visigoths didn't turn out in greater numbers to support the King's Eleven. A poor show all round. Hilarious to think the Visigoths had 3 or 4 games in hand over Hibs and are still behind them with only 1 left.

Tax on dividend income at the same levels is capped at 32.5%. Not tax free, but a lower rate of tax.

Thought there was a tax credit associated with dividends too, of about 11% as they are paid after corporation tax? So in effect its 32.5% - the tax credit?
FinnesTON
How ironic folk helping each other with their tax bill on the BRALT, if you have that much experience someone is looking for volunteers couldn't do any harm to offer advice to the Sevco and if you are a porn magnet all the better.
nsr
This was a 'show of numbers' evening as well, a few more results like this and those numbers will plummet. They are raging on RM ... they want a manager NOW not promises and tales of "making sure .. blah blah" ... Who's actually picking the team at the moment?

stonedsailor
Rumour on KDS (came from a friend on the dark side with contacts) that King has been told he doesn't pass the FPP test ... I thought it was down to the clubs to assess the candidate themselves? Surely they just need Chris Grey Yam to sign off the paperwork?
