hellbhoy
Good, no players left Ibrokes allowing the spivs to keep the lights on for another few weeks more. I do wonder if the skin flints added an extra decimal point to the value of each of their players scaring off any club from offering a pittance. Anyhoo a fire sale of their most expensive earners might have solved the problem financially and now they may stand to lose them through an admin event and get bugger all except a big fat zero pounds.
hellbhoy
'A plea of not guilty to a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice, by pretending to police that he did not live in the UK and was visiting the country for a catering course, was accepted by prosecutors.' Aye Johnny cooking the books at Ibrokes has become a world renowned course.

They've also managed to make Jim Baxter look like McLaren out of Porridge. What a way to treat your 'legends'.

aofjays
Buying shares ... No wonder these fuckers get fleeced and ass raped ... That's some scary reading. Some guy has denied his family a holiday for 3 years so he can buy shares because "how can you waste money in rangers?". I feel sorry for people like him to be honest but, as the saying goes, you will never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the general public.

Likewise the guy saying he's going to take out a loan to buy more shares - that's crazy. I do feel sorry for these guys, I'm not sure they understand properly how this works and you can see they are just trying to do the best for their club, but the relationship with the club is being exploited and they are going to end up with nothing to show for the loyalty.
nsr
It must be the same mentality that enables cult leaders to manipulate otherwise normal people into doing the most bizarre things.

There is a definite lack of understanding, a guy says he spent £500 last time and is going to get £100 worth to take his holding to £600, er, no, that's ~ £280. Poor sods. I understand the need - I ploughed tons into 'Save the Jags' but at no point did I feel I was being taken for a ride.

Yeah, I mean I put money into Hearts but I understood that it wasn't money I'd get back and outside of saving the club I wouldn't have anything tangible from it. I put in money I could afford to lose and much as I love Hearts, I would never have taken out a loan to put money in or spent money we'd earmarked for other things like holidays.

It was money I could afford to never see again.
Ken Fitlike
There is a difference between coming over all über-bear by claiming on a forum that you'll buy shares, and actually parting with money. I suspect a few posters on there are fantasists
