Itwiznaeme
The follow followers have found a list of Players and directors that were paying in to film distribution tax break scheme and are freaming themselves at the thought of Celtic Paying into this on behalf of the players not unlike the ebt scheme, can you imagine the shitstorm that would create!? Alleged to have occurred while David Murray was still at Rangers!? David Murray who had the Scottish Media in his pocket. Surely the Mainstream Media in Scotland would have been right on top of that if it were true and there was wrongdoing on the part of Celtic's payments to players. Especially if Neil Lennon and Martin O'Neil were two of the names involved. A non story for me - probably photo-shopped by a raging follow follower! Time will tell. hellbhoy
I'm not so sure about the first part; a one or two season contract with plenty of TV exposure that you wouldn't otherwise get could be quite attractive. Assuming the transfer embargo stands, the club should, at best, be trying to sign players who can secure D2 promotion. Bringing in anyone better than that is just pissing money away (that probably isn't there in the first place...) You could be right on your first bit but it's down to how much cash Charlie boy has at his disposal and how much sponsorship money he can secure to lure decent players on at least a 3 year contract. This to get to the point of SPL promotion whilst having the option to release them to be replaced with SPL quality to survive in the SPL. Second bit ! Hmmm ? If your going to build a team from scratch your best bet is to have a team to gel over a few years for team spirit and moral IMO instead of disrupting the team every year replacing the entire team for each division. Green is under real pressure from your fans to sign up what they would deem as quality players as is the Rangers tradition, anything less and they will boycott Ibrox in all probability !.So how much has Green got to invest upfront now ? or is he working on projected capital on attendances at Ibrox only ? these two need to be answered so you know what to expect on the park this coming season me thinks.

We'll need to agree to disagree here. If we take Green at face value (it may be a stretch to do so), then his objective is to make money, and do it as quickly as possible. The best route to doing this (and possibly the only viable route) is to get the club to the SPL as soon as possible but with minimal outlay. There are a few reasons for this, namely 1) there's going to be a fan exodus next season anyway - he must be aware of this and buying in all the "quality" players he can isn't going to change this, 2) some "fans" will inevitably return as soon as the games against Celtic appear, and 3) it's undoubtedly better financially to try to build a team while spending three years 2nd bottom of the SPL than it is to do so on the way up. Anyway, assuming Sevco doesn't go into administration in the next 6 months, time will tell!

L. Brilliant
The film tax scheme does exist - I heard of it a few years back second hand from reasonably high-profile player, now manager. Not a celtic player either. It isn't anything like tax evasion - it's investment as an alternative to straight tax. I'm not saying it's spot-on morally by any means - but it's a bit different from withholding NI and PAYE from wages and using it as working capital! It's also completely different from secret second contracts which was cheating in a sporting sense (it was forbidden by SFA rules). Non-story.

One thing is for sure if the embargo starts from September 1st ! there will be stupid O'clock headlines linking EPL,Championship,SPL & top European leagues players to Ibrox .You know the media they just want your attention ! I can almost guarantee that !. "Rangers in secret talks with Chris Boyd returning" and all that FFS. I'm in agreement with some of your fans, they have a youth setup that can surely win promotion from Div 3.Aren't the youth at Murray Park the cherry picked stars of the future from other clubs as well as local ?Also the youth are not all 18 and under there are a few 19 and 20 year olds at least. Yeah, the headlines will be absolutely mince and entirely unfounded as you say, but they'll sell papers to idiots and keep the Daily Record et al. circulation figures up for a few more weeks. I'm not entirely sure who remains from the old youth squad, but I'm not convinced in the slightest that they would walk D3 without adding a few signings (especially as I think any remaining senior players now need to be sold ASAP to get their wages off the books). It's been a few years since I regularly attended QP games, but I'm assuming that not much has changed: the league is full of very experienced pros and hard hitters. I don't want to say that the kids would get kicked all over the park, but they're certainly not going to find it easy. As somebody else said recently, every game will be like a cup game - there's a scalp to be had!

jester
Heard a rumour that the SFL are looking at imposing some sort of handicap system on the 3rd Division this season. They fear that many games will be overly one sided, making the league an embarrasment, especially now it will be televised. For that reason in each match they are going to give SEVCO 3 goals of a start...

I wasn't suggesting they would cakewalk it BUT ! making it to the playoffs with a seasons senior team under their belts they may actually mature into a decent young outfit after maybe taking a few tough games at the start of the season. These youngsters have also played along with the senior team in the last few years so must have gotten at least more than a few tips from them. From the likes of Elbows : how to take out a striker completely possibly causing serious injury whilst looking innocent and claiming the striker was feigning injury. And also my personal favourite ! run into the box and jump leading with your elbow taking the defender or keeper clean out of the game and heading the ball into the net .
