cyderspaceman
I you all think the gers breakdown fiasco is nearly finished just wait till next week. I kinda get the feeling that everything is just about to get completely ugly after the SPL meeting on Monday. There is NO WAY that the newco will be playing 3rd division football if these B@STARDS in charge have their way. We will have our butts lubed by leaks that the newco will be parachuted straight into the SPL after Monday. I do not think for one second that this is all over by a long shot and the most insulting sneaky underhanded moves are about to be revealed. Nah. They tried a stitch-up and failed. I do not see how they could turn it around AND survive the aftermath, which would fkn HORRENDOUS. I don't even see how they can turn it full stop. Not after Sevco fishully in Div3. They are, aren't they?

pozbaird
That St Mirren statement is absolutely disgraceful. St Mirren fans must be completely sickened by that. We are. He's done a great job for us, but what did he hope to achieve by making such statements? As fans of all clubs are saying - St Mirren voted no to newco in the SPL. If the SFL say 'no to newco in Div 1' - what the fcuk right has our chairman to criticise? Christ, they would have been well within their rights to say 'no to newco at all - unless they apply alongside any other interested parties, and we'll give their application equal consideration'. FFS - the suits in charge of our game are a disgrace!

I don't even see how they can turn it full stop. Not after Sevco fishully in Div3. They are, aren't they? It's been touted that the newco is a 3rd division team now ! how can that be when they do not even possess a license to play in any league ? and the SFL vote was only where to accept the newco should they vote to accept any newco to join. The SFL still has 30 teams does it not ! so no vacant place there for the newco as it stands. There are still 42 teams in our leagues as it stands because the real Rangers still possess the license Greens newco needs in order to play in any league. Greens newco is a club with a stadium, training facility & some players with NO membership license to play in any league. As bad as this sounds the SPL have not invited Dundee or Dumfermline to join the SPL yet.IMO they have left the door open if things went against fast tracking the newco to the SPL through the SFL leagues as has happened. The SPL clubs & the SFA have had only one thing on their agenda since the real Rangers meltdown ! get the newco straight into the SPL and business as usual ! only the fans revolt against parachuting the newco straight in has had the SPL vote them not to enter at the top tier. Well here we are months down the line and weeks away from the new season and the newco still has an open door to the SPL with all the above said. Do you think the powers that run our game give a flying fcuk what we actually feel and think ?.There is still the chance that there will be a newco Rangers in the SPL at the moment as not all the doors are closed for this to happen. Also this is the orcs worst nightmare scenario ! being in the SPL only to be fucked over for 3 years plus by sanctions. The shame of being gubbed of Ross County and being at the bottom will be too much to bear for them and as far as I'm concerned is far worse punishment than getting off lightly in the 3rd division .
wunfellaff
Mass redundancies? How many staff do St Mirren employ? That sounds like they have an army of employees holed up in some factory somewhere in Paisley. Is this a slight exaggeration or do the Buddies genuinley have a gargantuan payroll? And if they do, what exactly do these people do? I heard there will only be two, Higgs and Bosun. Real shame as they had just been discovered.
Brewing up a storm
Also this is the orcs worst nightmare scenario ! being in the SPL only to be fucked over for 3 years plus by sanctions. The shame of being gubbed of Ross County and being at the bottom will be too much to bear for them and as far as I'm concerned is far worse punishment than getting off lightly in the 3rd division . If, and it is a huge if, Rangers go back in the SPL there is no way there would be such severe sanctions put in place that they'd run the risk of "Rangers" possibly getting relegated and the whole thing happening again. They obviously couldn't discount that it would happen (due to the financial situation of the team and their current lack of players) but they certainly wouldn't want to significantly contribute it and risk Newco being stuck in Division 1 for a year or two...
Auslander
From Dundee UTD 14 July 2012 Following yesterday's democratic vote by the SFL clubs in favour of admitting The Rangers Football Club as an associate member of the SFL, but with the Third Division being the only acceptable position, Dundee United will now focus on our upcoming campaign while working together with the other SPL clubs to ensure the stability of the SPL and Scottish football in what will be an uncertain and extremely challenging financial environment. For the avoidance of doubt, following yesterday's vote, the Club would not support any counter proposals for the formation of SPL 2 or regarding any other route for The Rangers Football Club to join the SPL. Now is the time for everyone to be united as one and we ask our supporters to stand alongside us as we face the challenges ahead.

flyingscot
That's exactly what happened to FFC with the credit crunch, an over exposure to sponsorship from the construction industry & Setanta folding. Still here though........ just. Yep and we'll scrabble through no doubt as well although the days of worrying about our books were gone, they are now back which isn't great. Suspect we'll muddle through and I guess it is a positive others outbid us for Hasselbaink and Tesselaar. Don't like Gilmour's words though and disappointing he came out and said it. Not fair to blame SFL clubs and we need to pull together not apart from here. Aside from that the rest of the article is fairly meh, nothing in it that we didn't know already. I'm not surprised in him saying it however as he just looks sick and tired of the whole thing and largely beyond caring any more. "The Rangers representatives were invited in at the end of the meeting and informed that their application to play in the SFL had been successful; and that the vast majority of clubs had voted in favour of them joining Division Three. The above is a direct quote from David Longmuir of the SFL. Sevco 666 are now MEMBERS of the SFL. As a Sellick fan it comes as no surprise you would rather have them in the SPL and in deep deep shite for your own personal joy than where they are going ( for the corret reasons of sporting integritty).. ONE DOWN ONE TO GO..
