Big Rangers Administration/Liquidation Thread - All chat here!

Recommended Posts

At least we now know:

[1] ... reconstruction is dependant on accepting Rangers into SFL1

[2] ... only firm offer is £1M cash plus committees/discussions on reconstruction/play-offs

[3] ... the united league would see 12+ top-tier clubs hold 3 directorships and ~30 lower-tier clubs hold 2

It's hardly earth-shattering concessions.

What's with all the infighting? I know the big vote is tomorrow and everyone's a bit jittery, just like the last time and also on CVA day, but settle down

We'll see what happens tomorrow. I personally think Rangers will be in SFL 3 next season, but will someone end up in some kind of second tier the year after because of reconstruction.

Relax!

Its an SPL problem alright. They are doing their damndest to get Newco back into SPL in a year, Get them into SFL 1 , increase SFL 1, 3 up, 1 down,AND you think this is ALL been done without their approval??

No chance!!

They calculated that SFL would just lie down, roll over and take SPL/Newcos hot boaby up the poop shoot!.

At the moment, it looks like SFL clubs will say NO, so it now becomes SPL problem, that their cash cow may be at least 3 years away or dead altogether.

OR that SFA put Newco into SFL 1 , anyway, and the SPL silence is proof of complicity.

The SPL clubs voted no to newco, it's well publicised. The SFL do not have to entertain newco either.

For the record the SPL also calculated that their clubs' fans would just lie down, roll over and accept the boaby. It should never have been up to us either but we stood up and were counted, if the fans of SFL clubs want to roll over etc that is up to them, do not lay the blame with us we told them where to go, it's up to you now. If the ball gets passed back to us then one of two things will happen either the SPL clubs will have to run out the stadium to collect it back losing the cash cow of their own supporters or they can get another ball from the dugout and tell Sevco to go play headers and volleys in the car park.

Your clubs should be voting no to proposition 1 and then deciding whether or not to allow Dun* to resign and invite applications for Division 3.

That proposal is hideous. Thankfully it's so bad there isn't a fucking chance it'll be voted through.

I'm feeling confident SFL clubs will reject the proposals tomorrow. What happens from then on is open to debate but there's only so much we as fans can do.

Surely the SFL board will not over-rule the clubs if the vote is something like 22-6 in favour of SFL3. I can understand them being involved if the vote was really close but with such a majority then it would be suicidal to over-rule.

The proposals offer nothing to SFL2 or 3 teams and as such I cant see why they would go with them, the settlement money would be paid as legally the spl would have to...are Brechin really saying they fancy their chances for the SPL? Fair enough if they do but they'd probably find their path blocked by some mad regulation on hedges or something!

One could read it that he was reined in last week when he went on every possible media outlet saying the vote would be delayed...and they promptly voted against newco. That was a slap in the face to doncaster a very public one. People moaning about position the sfl are in need to think about what alternatives spl chairmen had...they could only vote on newco into spl...and they didn't. They had no further option or right to say no to newco in sfl. Yes its unpleasant for sfl clubs but can anyone say how the spl chairmen were to prevent newco applying to sfl?? Fact is this is a multistage process and we have to go through each stage in sequence. Re panic over spl fwiw having voted no to newco due to fan power the spl chairmen are unlikely to alienate their fans now. Let's all calm down a bit so far we have thwarted the machinations of the suits...nothing has yet stopped fan power...kept the faith

It may be a multi-stage process but it should have went like this:

1. SPL refuse transfer of share

2. SPL ask SFL for permission to promote one of the SFL clubs.

3. SFL grant or deny permission.

4. SFL promote relevant clubs and invite applications for the space in SFL3

5. Spartans, Sevco and any others apply.

6. SFL decide who to admit.

Where in this process does SFA need to get involved, bribes required etc.

Clyde have made another new statement this afternoon

"The Board of Clyde Football Club has received the papers in advance of tomorrows SFL meeting and will consider the Heads of Terms supplied. We continue to have the same fundamental concerns about this process, however the overriding concern is a point which we have made to the SFL.

We have received absolutely no information on the organisation Sevco Scotland Ltd whom we are being asked, and encouraged, to vote straight into the top division of the SFL under resolution 2 and possibly into SFL3 under Resolution 1. We have no business plan, list of directors, details of ownership, statement of capital adequacy or any proposals relating to the provision of any similar information in the near future. David Longmuir has clearly stated that he will distribute all the information he has got or is able to distribute.

Whilst the notion that there is a leap of faith to be taken in terms of some of the matters, there can be no leap of faith with something as fundamental as knowing who is being admitted to the league. The very fact that there is no information of any kind being made available on this company undermines the authorities efforts to direct the new entrant to SFL1. It is actually impossible for any member of the SFL to make an objective assessment of the proposals under Resolutions 1 and 2 and could be seen as irresponsible to support either proposal in such a void of information.

It is our hope that some credibility can be introduced to this process and we would ask that whoever holds information on Sevco Scotland Ltd provides a full and detailed pack to David Longmuir in order that, even at the eleventh hour, the SFL clubs are given reason to support any Resolutions that they might wish to vote on. We have to assume that the SFA and SPL hold such information otherwise they would not press so heavily for entry to SFL1.

If a leap of faith is to be taken, then in the current circumstances it will be taken blindly and the only logical outcome of taking that kind of risk would be to enter them to SFL3, where, should any subsequent issues arise, they will be contained within the lowest league rather than disrupting the top flight of the SFL.

The other matter that is entirely outside the gift of the SFL is the need for the SPL clubs to confirm that, contrary to what Neil Doncaster stated on their behalf, the SPL will meet its obligations to the SFL under the Settlement Agreement."

It seems a fair point. Theyre just highlighting that the SFL are being asked to vote in a Club which nobody knows anything about. So presumably SFA, the governing body, will be able to give Longmuir the required information so a reasoned decision can be met? If not, that's why theyre being asked to take a leap of faith & there's a case to say theyre being very generous that they might consider it, but only for Division 3. So that if this new Club cant complete their fixtures or whatever, at least it wont be a league higher up. Really, any doubt, shouldnt be any league

I hope the SFA and SPL recognize the massive favour theyre getting if they are voted back in without required info !

Absolutely bang on.

It's disgraceful these Vichy Rangers fans are trying to blame someone else for them having a decision to make.

The ball is in the SFL court. Any decisions will be down to the SFL clubs.

Any chairman of any SFL club that votes for newco into the First Division based upon this latest document will be getting a letter from my Nigerian cousin. You know the one; "Dear Beneficiary, We have a huge amount of money we can transfer to you..............."

Think that was more of a knee in the balls than reined in.

I know Fozzie posted the Heralds take on this earlier, but here is the Daily Ranjurs version.....slightly different, with a bit i will quote that has got me curious.

Charles Green bought assets worth £110m for just £1.5m

If Green loses a legal battle to bind players to their old contracts, then the £2.75million disappears.

Now excuse me if i am picking this up wrong, but the quote in that story has me wondering.Do they mean he will lose his £2.75m if he loses the battle to keep the players,or does he no longer have to pay it as he isn't getting what he was purchasing. If its the latter then the takeover basically has only cost him £1.5m

Do the SFA, SFL and SPL take us for complete and utter fucking muppets? Here's a list of terms, oh and by the way, these aren't contractually binding so we can change it whenever we want! The whole saga is disgusting. At every turn the SFL, SFA or SPL have managed to f**k up any proposal to the fans as they are simply clueless over the fact we're not happy to accept some form of reconstruction in return for Rangers in the first division. They're only showing themselves up to be corrupt morons who only have financial interests at heart.

What's with all the infighting?

It's just a Plastic Whistle fan still pissed off that when the SPL's closed shop was eventually broken it happened to be his club that lost out. I understand his bitterness but the OF dominated SPL's hold on the game has been steadily eroded away since his club were sacrificed for the good of the game and we are about to see the end of that OF dominance.

That proposal is so full of loopholes as to ensure that nothing actually changes at all.

Even the final line clinches it for me -

"These heads of terms are not intended to be a contractual agreement which is legally binding between the parties."

It's shocking that a proposal is even being offered - a club wishes to enter the league, let's do this the way we've always done it.

SPL are totally in on this.

Indeed. Promises much, although not that much but delivers absolutely nothing
