Owsley
And here was me thinking bomber didnt have a Hope. Why doesn't anybody in this saga have a normal name that doesn't provoke puns or sarky comments - Green and Whyte, now Brown, Hope, Duff and Phelps(Nuff n' Helps), Bill (I)NG, Another Bill(they can't pay them), and then the coincidences like the Queen shaking hands with Martin McGuiness (Ho! Ho! Things just get worse for Rangers fans), the announcement of the No to Independence campaign on the same day so many Rangers players said No, and the downright wacky... the children's clown who got money instead of the fans fighting fund, the porn star who started the EBT scenario, Joanna Lumley giving Minty Murray the spanish archer and so many more. I hope someone is keeping notes, this is going to be a hell of a book. Will make War and Peace look like a note to the milkman.
Iain
This looks a bit more hopeful if there's anything in it, from the Express though.. My link They're just going from Gilmour's comments.
Squirrelhumper
Unless Mr. Spiers is party to information not yet in the public domain, I doubt he'll be able to add to info. on this forum. Let's hope none of the BrownShirts pitch up. I'm going. Will send updates. It's the KFCSA who have organised it.

welshbairn
They've just pinched that from here, from twitter or from some other forum. Maybe, but it fits in with this part of Longmuir's statement: The consultation document will fully explain the short and long-term benefits of a number of scenarios which we will be considering at a full Club Meeting next week.
SodjesSixteenIncher
Right apologies, I'm sure this has been discussed and mentioned extensively but is there any indication of what kind of club voting, if any, this newco in div1 strategy needs to be pushed through? If it requires vote approval across the football league, surely it has no chance? You already have clubs like Raith and Falkirk from SD1 rejecting it, and the 20 clubs below that league would be losing out on any benefit whatsoever. Thanks for helping a brother out, who has no prospect of catching up on this farce Whatever happens, the influential people in Scottish football have proven to be corrupt cowards of the highest order.

pozbaird
This looks a bit more hopeful if there's anything in it, from the Express though.. My link There's nothing more hopeful about it mate. We need to cut straight through any bullshit and keep on at the heart of the matter: The suits in charge of our national game are only entertaining the prospect of change to make life easier for any Sevco 5088 or Sevco Scotland Ltd 'newco' club to have an easier path - simply because they rose from the ruins of what was Rangers FC. It is wrong. It stinks. It is no basis on which to suddenly re-jig our national sport. It's a carve-up....

My link "Top 6 play off for championship and European places" - there is only one CL spot "7-14 play off for Europe league spot" - lol wut? Teams placed 2nd to 6th have no chance of getting into Europe but the side 3rd from bottom does! "bottom two face each other 5 times" - 5 times?? In addition to the two theyve already played? If I didnt know better I would think Cockwomble came up with that one.

STV say that the SPL think they can demote the entity without an SFL vote. Sounds bollocks to me, as they don't exist. If they find a way of forcing it through, though, the SFL can presumably do the same as they did to Gretna, and vote them down to Div 3.

GoTeamGaz
this isn't an SFL vote yet though, in order for the SFL clubs to take a vote on this the SPL chairmen must vote Rangers transfer share through so that they can be relegated so at least two, if not all, chairmen who assured fans they would be voting no will have to do a u-turn - it'll be brushed over in the media because no one wants to lose face in front of their fans but none of this can happen unless the SPL chairmen deem it so, then put pressure on the SFL clubs to accept it.

Homer Thompson
There wont be a vote if they are relegated though, they would just be relegated. Incidentally, theres been no talk yet of exactly what reason the SPL would have for relegating them, should they vote them in. You're right on that point, but the SFL clubs would have to vote on league reconstruction. You could, of course, end up with a situation where the SPL vote them back in, then relegate them and the SFL clubs vote no to reconstruction. Leaving Rangers 3.0 (recently upgraded) in the 1st division with absolutely no changes to the leagues. Of course, if that were to happen the SFA could hammer them for the original disrepute charge.

But they will continue to exist if the SPL vote to allow the transfer of share from oldco to newco It goes back to something thats been discussed on here an awful lot - the footballing entity can be separate from the holding company. -
Homer Thompson
They're talking about relegating the Oldco between now and 3rd July. Really? On what grounds? edited to add - in that case then, there would be an SFL/SFA vote to transfer membership from oldco to newco, just as there would have been in the SPL. What I'd like is a dead Rangers, a 3x14 league set up, fair distribution of revenue and voting rights, and the death of the SPL. For that I'd be prepared to allow Sevco 5088 compete for a place in the bottom level. Seize the moment!
