No8.
no other club has brought the game into disrepute by systematically defrauding the public purse. Yes they have. Look at the attendance figures given by Scottish clubs before electronic turnstiles..It was going on for years and years. -
Handsome_Devil
Yes they have. Look at the attendance figures given by Scottish clubs before electronic turnstiles..It was going on for years and years. Good luck proving that...and even if it's true, do you think squirrelling away some turnstile money is comparable to abusing a tax scheme to the tune of tens of millions and then simply not paying £15m of PAYE, VAT etc?
chrismcarab
Confusion breaks out during the HMRC EBT investigation as Directors of The Club formerly known as Rangers are asked to identify the main culprits.......
7-2
Rangers couldn't even sell out their allocation at McDiarmid for what was their last ever game.
Fife Saint
Rangers couldn't even sell out their allocation at McDiarmid for what was their last ever game. That's fucking tragic.
Invalid Probe
Join the club, we've had 128 years of it. We've won f**k all. f**k all. Yes, but I'm sure you'll still be going strong after 140 years of f**k all.

Musketeer Gripweed
Who said all TV money would be lost? We didn't sell one of our prized assets for a measley 200k this season so have had to cut our budget by 4k a week. These are the kind of margins we're talking about But every other club will be in the same boat! Look at what my own has suffered after years of overspending. When we got relegated we had a shite squad on far too much money. Look at us now, we are playing young Scottish players with the hope of selling them on to a higher level, ideally for me within Scotland. That could happen right across the board if SPL chairmen did the right thing and voted no. They deserve it as well, it's not as if it is just being opportunist.
p&b is a disgrace
You do realise that is not even nearly true? OK. To rephrase. After investigating Rangers, HMRC issued a demand for unpaid tax as a result of the incorrect operation of an EBT scheme. Rangers have appealed this decision in a forlorn hope of delaying the inevitable. Effectively, the battle is already lost - long ago.
flyingrodent
if you were a joiners you'd be on Watchdog... CrimeWatch, more like. Terrible crimes like those committed by Rangers FC are dreadful, but they're also very rare so please, don't have nightmares...

I am not defending what Rangers have done over the last 12 months. They deserve to be punished. I am just trying to point out that when all is said and done the clubs who are blameless are going to suffer...Unfairly in my opinion. I am just trying to point out there is another option which lets the other clubs keep their money and punish the club that has been proven to cheat.

chrismcarab
I know this was hours ago, but I've been out and haven't caught up: David Murray, Craig Whyte, Chick Young, Blue Knights, Double Contracts, Billy Dodds did he do nothing wrong? Haudit Daudit, Big Hoose Guy, Cockwomble, full of lies, Big Tax Case, Little Tax Case, Jean Alain Boumsong, RFFF, New Pitch, Daily Record, Rangers' Bitch, HMRC, Liquidation, history goodbye Porno Maker, Chuck Green, FTP, God Save The Queen Fat Sally won't go, Joanna Lumley said no! We didn't vote for newco Club 12 sounds much better Send your teams a letter We didn't vote for newco We'd have chased them faster But for Donkeymaster found myself singing this just to check it for phrasing! ........quality post mate

It's impossible to punish the club which has cheated unfortunately, because that club is no more. It wouldn't be fair to punish the new replacement club which hasn't done anything wrong. They should instead be allowed to mind their own business and build from the bottom up by applying to enter Division 3 as any other new club would be entitled to do.
Forever Diamond
This will happen across the board in Scotland. St Mirren have said they will lose £500,000 pa without Rangers...Well they will certainly be slashing the wage bill and any decent offer for players like Kenny McLean will have to be considered. I keep hearing Scottish football has hit rock bottom. TBH i think we are nowhere near rock bottom. Every SPL club losing £500,000 pa and celtic double that every year for the next 3 years. Is this the price we are willing to pay for sporting integrity? I am certainly prepared for it as it is a fit and proper punishment for what my club did..I feel for the other clubs as they will suffer as well but at least they have a choice. I cant understand why supporters of other clubs are not looking to keep The Rangers in the SPL with heavy sanctions...They get to mock us...They get the money we generate and they get to make sure we wont be competitive for X years. The Chairman can say all they want about lost revenue, but if the fanbase polls are anything to go by then they could be losing a lot more from fans who walk away from their clubs in disgust at voting newco back into the SPL. The revenue may well be down for 2-3 seasons if newco start from the 3rd....but it may well be down for a hell of a lot longer if these fans chose never to return. It is all what ifs at the moment though,as we dont know yet what the final outcome is to be....either way i can assure you Scottish football will suffer for many years to come.

p&b is a disgrace
Reminder, The Rangers. The comment was "The Rangers will come out of the other side of this". By inference the same club came out the other side - but its dead, Dead I tell ya'!
Gaz FFC
Rangers couldn't even sell out their allocation at McDiarmid for what was their last ever game. I hope your not trying to suggest that when their is f**k all to win that Rangers fans aren't interested? Although you do have to wonder how over 10,000 went to Killie to see them WIN the title a year earlier. It's almost as if the Rangers fans are gloryhunters

But too much of the number crunching around this has been very optimistic projections from fans with them out, or vastly underestimated projections with them out, not to mention speculative guesses masquerading as solid facts 100k here and there can make a massive difference for clubs who aren't able to trigger relegation clauses and have contracts to honour
Chazza1910
You do realise that is not even nearly true? Not yet, but it's gonna happen. HMRC source confirmed it to me months ago, and is the reason they were emphatic about the CVA. Apart from the fact that it is their policy, now they can pursue the culprits with liquidation. Jeez, The Rangers are shafted on so many fronts, they are sitting ducks. And can anyone pinpoint what Traynor's problem is? Apparently he was bleating about Rangers being punished enough on the radio tonight. This is great, gets my blood boiling. Grrrr! One more thing: Doncaster wouldn't be interviewed today after the SPL decision. Not even he can smarm his way out of this one.
